Summits on the Air Morse Code Practice | Beginner Practice
Here is a big chunk of my SOTA activation of Trout Creek Butte (W7O/CM-072) for use as beginner Morse Code Practice. I think programs like Summits on the Air and Parks on the Air are great for getting started with morse code. The exchange is relatively simple:
A: CQ CQ DE [Activator Callsign] K
C: [Chaser 1 Callsign]
A: [Chaser Callsign] TU UR 5NN 5NN BK
C: BK UR 5NN 5NN 73 BK
A: BK TU 73 EE
C: EE
Here you'll see there are some variations to the SOTA script. Some chasers like to send their state. Some throw in an additional greeting such as "GM" for Good Morning.

Thanks for the S2S. That day me, Darryl (WW7D), and Rich (AC7MA) were doing a summit together. I was using my KH1 and the trapped EFHW I made from the kit you sent me. DJ was using his KH1 and a trapped doublet. Always great to get you in the log! 73.

Thanks for the 3 S2Ss, Josh. I didn't fully copy the "new op" message in the field, but I got it that I should listen for another S2S. Always great to get y'all in the log. Cool what you were using the KH1 with the traps!
Looks like fun! My main goal for 2024 is to use more CW and get in the field. Enjoyed. 😊
