Pongezi Dave. I climbed Kili in 2016 at age 60. Someone should have told me, "Never climb a mountain called "Kil-a-man" but we made it. We've lived and served here as volunteers in rural western Kenya now since 2015 at Tenwek Hospital.

Congratulations! I was there at the Uhuru Peak 15.02.1989. The whole route from Gilmans Point ahead was a snow path and the peak was covered with ice. Now, when you watch these clips from there, you can easily see the climate change. It is so sad. But still: it is a great challenge to do it!

An absolute amazing adventure! The views are unbelievable! Very scary to see the lack of snow. We were in Amboseli in July, and the only water for the elephants and wildlife was from Kili. It was sooo dry. Animals zebras and tg’s dying from lack of grazing grass, and water. Loved the experience, but if rain levels don’t return to normal, I’m worried for the future. 😪😪

You're right. Some researcher say that in just a couple of year all the snow from Kilimanjaro will be gone. Its a disaster...

Part being working all my life and never had the chance to go there.Although i was in Tanzania many times over the years always flying past Mount Kilimajaro on working trips. Now at 60 defnitly too old and full of aches. Thats a photo that you save and cherish for the rest of your lives and maybe one day your show your children. Unbelievable what great food they prepaired for you. True heros those guys. Keep well and take an well deserved rest.
