Just ordered one! Wanted a shimoda first but didn't like I had to buy a camera cube separately which makes the set extremely expensive

Great review. I have one and am very happy with it. Very comfortable for me. ( 6'3" 18" torso ) . The need for adjustable fit positions are not necessary. The price is absolutely justified in my opinion. Don't have to buy extra cubes, pouches on hip belt, smart water fits in shoulder strap pouches, all the things you'd have to pay extra for with the other brands. Also have a Shimoda and the Tenzing is that and more.

Can this bag be taken as carry on for a flight in the 40L roll top size?

YES, at a pinch, it is OK size wise but I found that it holds a lot more than the std 7kgs allowed.

While this is obviously designed around the Shimoda brand, I think Summit Creative has gone a step beyond rather than simply cloning Shimoda. My only quandary is what size do I get?! Really nice review.

Thanks Harold, I saw a Shimoda in the flesh for the first time last week. And I think the Summit bag is quite diffent in features and they have done a good job. Hmm yes the size, thats your choice LOL

Knockoff clone of Shimoda Designs explore/action series. Original is better as it has adjustable shoulder straps, replaceable with different types or women specific. Plus quickly taking out the ICU core unit is handy for air travel if bag needs to be checked in.

⁠@@Battlem0nkand they are way more expensive because you need to buy the ICU separately. I bought the summit creative 40l for just 340€ here in Germany instead of 500€ for the action v2 40l with medium icu
