Summit Assistance Dogs & Monroe Correctional Complex: A Win-Win

At about 8-10 months of age, Summit dogs in training progress to the Monroe Correctional Complex. Since 2010, our partnership with the prison has been an integral part of our training program. Dogs typically spend two ten-week sessions in Monroe. Each dog is housed with two inmates, who receive twice-weekly lessons from our staff of professional trainers. Summit gets a crew of incredibly dedicated trainers, administering intermediate training, exponentially expanding our capacity to take in and train dogs. As you’re about to see, it’s a win-win, benefiting the inmates and society at-large, as well.

all of you ex-felons are so ignorant. Look at your self first before you judge others. All you do is get locked up and fake who you truly are, while you inside. you think all those guys remember you and you can call them your friends. You know what, do some positive to the world and your community and stop being so ignorant. You all talk big but let us see your actions. Man truly changed his life and maybe he still working on it. I can say that at least he is changing his life from inside and making a impact on society that you blame for rejecting you. Of course they will reject you, when you act like bunch of free riders

@@alekpetrov5409 You're the ignorant one for thinking all ex-felons are that way. I served time at the same place as he did (MCC). People make horrible decisions and have to deal with the consequences and learn from those actions. Don't go around stating stuff like this. You're the one being ignorant, please reflect on what you stated and change your ways. Because I know my ways have changed. In addition, you're judging those that have already been served (judged).

Wonderful idea. Feel his emotion. Not the same person that went in there. Now a employable trade when he gets out if he wants to. Everybody wins and all prisons/jails should do this for selected inmates and stray dogs that will probably be put down for lack of a home. I bless all those that participate.
