    No dout one of the most beautiful countries in the world. and probably one of the best, When you see how the public space is built for the benefit of the citisens, and at the same time with a lot of respect to nature. Lots of intelligence

    IDK about "respect to nature" Most of the Netherlands, like Florida, was once swampland. The Dutch destroyed a very large habitat with all their draining and terraforming. As a consequence, they, like Floridians, constantly have to deal with algae blooms that occur because of a lack of water flow and pollution from things like fertilizers.

    Thank you! Those are Germans visiting hoorn :) The official language in the Netherlands is Dutch and the second official one is Frisian. Low Saxon, Limburgish are other regional recognised languages. In Hoorn they speak Dutch and West Frisian.

    Thank you, Thomas, for another beautiful walk. I never realized Hoorn was so lovely. One thing that struck me, following you down some of these busy shopping streets, is that I have never seen a single person wearing a mouth cover or mask and, moreover, maintaining any distance. They seem to pass each other with centimeters to spare, while I just watched Minister Grapperhuis get holy Hell in Parliament for throwing a wedding where proper Covid distance was not maintained. Do the rules in Nederland only apply for larger gatherings? Or indoors? Seems a bit arbitrary to me.

  • @wanderingthomas

    @wanderingthomas

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hoorn was surprisingly beautiful also for me :D The Covid rules are to maintain at least a 1,5 meter distance everywhere outside and in shops, supermarkets etc. While in the beginning (April-June) people kept their distance fairly well, right now not many seem to apply the social distancing rules. Masks are worn inside busses and trains because it's mandatory and that's about it. Personally I try to keep at least 1,5m distance. It might look like I am close when passing people but that's due to the camera lens effect. I still have to watch Grapperhuis :D Thanks for viewing and your comments Isabella!

    @@wanderingthomas Melbourne, Victoria, Australia still cruel, heartless, soulless lock downs and never see children or grandchildren. Covid-19 most people recover from. In Australia i believe just over 900 souls have died mainly due to government mistakes and most people were near death and aged over 70 years old. Population of Melbourne is 4,968.000 million people? Every life is precious but more people die or self harm and now suffer mental issues in Melbourne due to the cruel lock downs. People worldwide i thank you for your sympathy because our present government gives us nothing but despair, lack of hope and negativity. I apologize for being political but where i live in Melbourne it is cruel and harmful to mental health and many professionals worldwide agree it's a harmful solution if lock downs last too long. Please,people spare a thought for us and I apologize again for speaking of politics on such a site that brings much beauty and interest to us. Enjoy your freedoms. Peace.

    @@Prirrie Thank you and thank you for this walk of Hoorn. At 0.53 left of screen you see a concrete bench seat opposite the corner restaurant. I took a photo of my wife sitting there in 2010 (there was a temporary stage and a band playing near there then) and at 18.25 you briefly see the name plate of a boat called "Anna van Nieuwkoop" I remember this boat because family lived in Nieuwkoop many years ago north of Zegveld and Woerden. Just saying; took me back and my wife is gone but the memories remain. Goodbye my friend and love your 'video walks.' Tot Ziens. Peace.
