LIVE Q&A!!!
I vote for the emperor tetras, And I love more species spotlights on the carnivorous plants
Every person I know in San Francisco that has an outdoor tub has had to war with the ravenous city raccoons that live out here :/ I wish I had a garden though! My little fire escape can't hold much. I love living vicariously through you!
I'd totally love more of the carnivorous plant spotlights, all of ur plant and fish spotlights r amazing cus they're a good length + very informative
Nice setup. So inspiring. Makes me want to get out and do something similar. :)

The Tucanos get my vote-I'd love to see a successful spawning of those beauties!! The tubs are spectacular!
My vote is for the rainbow emperor tetras!!! They are a very beautiful fish! I also wanna see tons more updates on the carnivorous plants as well, I LOVE THEM :-)

Awesome video! You are really helping me a great deal. Thank you so much Rachel. I like the emperor tetras as the choice. Also, is like to see some spotlights on the carnivorous plants. Thank you again!!!!
I've often wondered about the overflow from rain as well as if you feed, thanks for including your answers in this video. Like the previous summer, it's a great series.
I love your setup! All the tubs look amazing. My vote would be for the Barred Pencil Fish!

Awesome vid again! I love the summer tubbing series! I'd really like to see how the rainbow emperors do :)
Do the Tucano Tetras!
Tucano!!!!
Nice Rachel! The tubs are looking great. I definitely could do this in Florida but the mosquitos would take over and a pond in the shade can get up to 100 degrees without a pond chiller or a deep enough setup.
I would love to see more spotlights on carnivorous plants! Raccoons will come right up to your house where i live. lol.
Nice to see your tubs doing well. You should get yourself a go pro to get some underwater footage. That would be amazing for us viewers and you to see the progress.

Rainbows would be awesome.... tubbs are looking phenom! I have to agree adoption is my goal!
I definitely would like to see the rainbow emperor tetras in the next tub.
Keep up with more carnivorous plant vids for sure!!!!
great video as always! I'd be out there with a cup of tea in the a.m.-looks awesome and sounds great.
Emperor Tetras should be tried outside
I would love to see more carnivorous plants!
These videos have inspired me to set up a 35 gallon tub on my deck. So far so good- fish go in this weekend- really poor weather last few weeks in NY.

This was a smooth video! I believe videos like this will make tubbin/ponds even more popular with time! I would love to try some of those carnivorous plants in a tub on our porch. We have a tremendous mosquito problem during all the good weather!

I'd vote for the Pencilfish because I like N. Trifaciatus and Marginatus. If it was me, I'd be trying Bleeding Heart Tetras. BTW I'm 61 and I'd totally want to be adopted, but my wife might object.
the colour n shape of them pitcher plants makes me lol 😂 i wish the weather here in the uk would allow for some outdoor sexyness like this :(
I learn so much from your videos! You are an inspiration :)

+Poly Fish good luck!!
its winter in South africa, so tubbing is out for me in Johannesburg, but i started with tubbing last year, did very well untill a flood came and ruined my setup even flooded fish away. i did live barers, but will do it again this year, but im thinking of live barers and few egg laying fish too. will do my guppies, white clouds, even thinking rosy barbs, bn plecos maybe, unsure of the rest lol... but im countind down the months already. will start mid september, and stock my last fish by October 15.
That is a really nice area to live. I wish it is as lush as that up here in Montreal.
Really upset you took the somphongsi outside!!! I concede on our bet for first fry as you will have them fairly quick, I would think, outside. My vote is for the rainbow emperor tetras. I'm thinking that they would make good dither for the apistos.
I don't know if you'd be interested in such a project but I think it would be really cool if you made a greenhouse on that end of your house. You could make it so that it converts to an open greenhouse in the spring/summer when you want your tubs out and then close it when it gets cold.

I really enjoy this series :o! I'd like to find some carnivorous plants but haven't had any luck so far xD. Guess I'll have to keep searching or order some :P.
i vote for the emperor tetras, one of my favs.
I just set-up a 20 gallon tub in my backyard. I live in Florida and as you can guess it gets really hot! Do I need to place the tub in a shaded area or bury half the tub in the ground? Also wondering what fish you think would thrive in the hotter weather? Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge thru your videos!
u have beautiful tubs n plants too I would love to see the colors of your rainbow tetras And I have one question what would u do if u have a dragonfly larva problem in your tubs and how could we make sure that they don't enter our tubs at all ?? they can b a big problem as they would kill all the small fish fry in the tub.
So happy for this video! Am setting up a patio pond now :) Sorry if I've missed this, but what are the taller plants? Love!

Louisiana iris is the one that has the blue/purple flower.
rainbow emperor tetras!
Wow! 💜💜💜
The daphnia Acure naturally? Sorry spelling! What type of iris do you put in the tubs? I have a lot of iris but it's in dirt and I was told it doesn't like their roots soggy. Do you sell any of your plants? Maybe when you get a lot? I could show you pictures of my yard, this would add another level I've been trying to develope. Thanks for your help!
excellent video :)
Do you have a setup video for these tubs? Also, where is a good place to get the tubs?
Love your video! I'm not sure I can do this in Phoenix,AZ. Temps in the summers are triple digits🤡

OK, I've got 4 female RCS full of berries about to be born. I removed the oto because I didn't want him to be tempted by the babies. What do you suggest I use for algae control? With the oto gone it's growing quickly!
Barred Pencils, obviously.
What is you filtration system for the tubs
If I can convince my mom to let me have a small tub on our balcony, what plants and fish should i get? (thinking water lilies and something that blooms) Also, would I need an air stone or could I get away with it?
it would be awesome if you went live
In your opinion which shrimp or shrimps do the best with algae control and cleaning plants? lets say for a 30 gal tank that mainly houses guppies. thank you :)

I just used g.e. 100% silicone it says not to use under water or in a fishtank ...is that true?
@RachelOLeary

should be fine if it is 100% silicone. They do that because of liability issues. You have to watch out for the ge ones that have additives that are mold inhibitors.

Do you have glowlight tetras? I read that they are particularly hardy compared to other tetras... I kinda think they look cool, but I've seen conflicting info on care, so I'm not sure if they are the fish for me.

+Yoonmi Kim yep, great fish. Look up danio choprae, I did a species spotlight
@yoonmikim5663

I'm thinking of Hemigrammus erythrozonus, not Danio choprai. Both called glowlight, but different species. I saw glowlight TETRAs (just emphasizing the difference) in a lfs. But I'm not that clear on how they differ from neon tetras and black tetras and green tetras. But they sure look cool with that single orange stripe. The ones in the store were outlining the orange with black, though I see not all of them have that. I kinda want to get them to go with a male betta and thought the muted colors might do well with a male betta. (neither of which I've purchased yet since I'm cautious about order to buy the fish, etc.) Pic: aquariumfish.net/images_01/glowlight_110421b3_w0480.jpg
