Fire safety tips:
Don’t walk away from a burning candle. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire or in a drafty area
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch remains in the container or 2 inches if using a pillar candle.
Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another. This is to make sure they don’t melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before re-lighting.
Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep.

I love this type of videos because, as you're crafting your spell candles, you're teaching us a lot of important properties of different herbs, oils, crystals and even more. Happy Summer Solstice!

I REALLY want to make my own candles but don’t have that ability right now due to where I live. So I take a tea light, a small oil warmer from the dollar store, let it get slightly melted, and add the ingredients. I then let it cool and use it for spells.

Would you be interested in info on a company that makes petroleum and synthetic free paint supplies? I know you like to make your own pigmemts and they have kits to mix their natural pigments into oil paints (with a walnut oil, and 100% eco safe varnish and solvents), water colors, pastels, face paints, and even plant based acrylic mediums, they even have eco friendly glitter! If you're in the U.S. that is... I promise I'm not shilling for them lol, I'm just excited I found them!

Is the association with Apollo just a modern one? Because sunflowers are new world plants...

It is kind of a meandering association. Originally from the myth of Clytie and Helios. Due to her unrequited love for the sun god she pined away and was transformed into the sun-gazing heliotrope (or turnsol) flower. Modern traditions substitute the purple turnsole with a yellow sunflower (which is not native to either Greece or Italy, coming from North America), which according to (incorrect) folk wisdom turns in the direction of the sun.

@@MagicalCrafting may also be why they chose it's scientific name of Helianthus! And Helios and Apollo were often interchangeable! Makes sense.
