Summer Night On Hamburger Hill

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We got a call from a gentleman that had swamped his jeep in Kane Creek. It was late in the day so we decided to just take the JK in to get the person out. Mike and I loaded up and headed in. After leaving the gas station we got a call from the customer and he said the jeep was running and he had made it to the bottom of Hamburger Hill but was unsure of making it up, and another jeep had showed up and was also unsure of the climb up and out. We told them to wait there and we would be in to help them. We drove in from the top, which is the fastest way in to Hamburger Hill. Once there I drove both jeeps up the hill, we had to winch them up the wall but it went quickly. From there up it was just spotting them up the last few ledges and we were back to pavement. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Owner made the right call. Crawling this at nighttime fits within the definition of sketchy! I appreciate the fact that your available to rescue anyone under most conditions. What a team!

Night wheeling when you're properly set up with lights and people to spot you is sketchy. Night wheeling by yourself on trails like that is just stupid. He definitely made the right call.

And right there at 10:28 in the video is why light bars are for malls only. Just as one needs to see to put tires on an obstacle, all goes dark with a light bar. Nicely done.

I know what you mean about the trails drastically changing over time. I did most of the trails around Moab in the 80s and 90s. Went back a couple of years ago and was shocked at how much harder they have gotten since I was last there. I always did Poison Spider Mesa in a stock Cherokee or Pathfinder, and liked taking family and friends because it was a beautiful drive and just scary enough that they had fun. Now that first hill is nothing like it was back then, as well as the waterfall. All of the dirt has been eroded away, leaving large steps instead of the old dirt road. I went back with a modified Sequoia and would have had no problem in the 90s. It's a bit different now.
