Summer Muskies in current! (custom bait) Wisconsin River Musky. This episode shows one day of musky fishing before week 5 of WILMA (Wisconsin League of Musky Anglers) and the league night itself. The water was warm and I wanted to try out some spots of the river with a lot of current. I scoured and saw 4 fish with 2 of them hitting my bait boatside. I just couldn’t convert. I then made a custom bait very similar to MUSKY MAYHEM’s JR3 that is relatively new. Whether it be the bait or just the timing, we had success in this video. It felt great to get on the board!

My largest ski came from that place. Nice catch! My partner and I took first in a tournament with a 49" a couple years back. We were on the main lake though.

+Robert Viau there are definitely huge fish throughout this whole river system! Getting a fish of that caliber is always a blast, even better when it’s in a tournament! Congrats! Also thanks for watching!!

@@k2fishing373 hey thanks man. I hear next world record could possibly come out of that lake. I know theres some giants in there for sure. If you get a chance check out a vid I posted up. I've only got one atm but I'll have more soon enough. We'll have to link up sometime.

It can be a good spot! I don’t necessarily love it all the time with all the pressure but it can be productive!
Plz help I can find musky close to our local dam well know for giant musky I fish the river near eddys thick cover and go to well know lakes to no success how long do u cast an eddy? How long do u cast a weed bed

Each body of water is different. In most lakes, I quickly cover weed beds and rock bars. If I don’t see any action I’ll go to a new spot in a different part of the lake. If I raise a fish, I’ll mark that spot and go back to it at a prime time (moon set, moon rise, sunset, sunrise, overhead, underfoot). Rivers are much different. Fish are constantly circulating in and out of spots so you can take more time picking apart current breaks and other structure without wasting your time. I hope this helps you get one this year 💪🏼
