If you want to play a hero collector for yourself without any other human interaction, yeah. The story also goes way further than has been released in anime form yet so if you don't read the light novel you might end up spoiling yourself.

Well if you want to watch an anime about a depressed, perverted, reincernated dude that has major Muten Roshi pantsu vibes, you might want to watch Mushoku Tensei. Jokes aside it's a good anime, I enjoyed both seasons.
