    Reminds me of my wife and I sailing our first sailboat, a Catalina 22 on SF Bay way back in 1978. Do yourself a favor, keep the 22 and skip "moving up" to a larger boat (headache).

    The outboard at 1 minute and 50 seconds: the outboard is controlled by the sailboat rudder handle? Or is the rudder and the outboard connected/synchronized together?

  • @DayDreams-sailing

    @DayDreams-sailing

    9 ай бұрын

    The outboard operates independent of the tiller (the rudder handle). The outboard does swivel, to steer a boat (like a dinghy or small skiff), but for my purposes it propels us straight forward, and the rudder steers the boat.

    Thanks so much for posting your videos. Just had our last sail aboard Seanachai ('86 --Sail #13573) before the maintenance haul out. We were looking for a relaxing video of C-22 sailing as we gear up for the yard work ahead. Your video hit the spot! Video editing and audio are much appreciated (I know that takes time!). Realizing the music is original is even more impressive. Congrats on the excellent work! Looking forward to seeing more. Fair winds...

    We rest it on a crutch attached to the transom where the rudder clips in, roll it backwards into the footing, attach the halyard to the winch cable and crank it up until the roller furler can be pinned. All the while making sure your turn buckles aren’t caught, they bend very easily. Next year we will have to make a video on stepping the mast. We do it with 2 people. Thank you for following along!
