I really enjoyed your video. I felt like I was listening to a longtime friend. I really dislike the horrible lady, too. I thank you for sharing the heartfelt stories about your dad and mom. I liked the coloring book flips, also.💟🙂

Thank you for the reply. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It wasn’t my intention to ramble such a long story, but somehow it felt better sharing it. I’m not even sure I shared the worst stories what happened around that time ha ha. Like how she blocked us from coming into the house for an hour the morning we arrived for his last day. Ugh..

Oh my god what a witch, my hats off to you for keeping your cool as you know that would have drived her insane. So sorry to hear about your dad but I wish we had something like that in England. Thanks for the vid a few books added to my wishlist not that I need anymore lol.

Thank you for the kind response. And yes, she was terrible. Karma will come back to her at some point. I didn’t know they didn’t have that kind of thing in England. I know what you mean about buying too many coloring books. I am terrible. I really need to do a shelf clean and giveaway lol.

Loved the books! I’m keeping the rest of the negative stuff to myself since this is public.

That’s OK I can totally relate to what you’re probably thinking and that’s just from you hearing about it secondhand.

1st of all, Thank you for showing flips of the books. A couple have been added to my list. 🙂 2nd. I had, oh how do you say it? "my dad's second wife" and that is all she was to me. So I understand. She's gone. Fortunately, I still have my dad alive and kicking at 91. ❤❤❤

You’re very lucky you still have your dad at age 91. I wasn’t expecting my dad to go at 76 because both of his parents lived until their late 90s. Glad I’m not the only one who had a Dad’s second wife. I never once referred to her as my wicked stepmother until I did the video but that just slipped out ha ha. I never even viewed her as a stepmother because she wanted nothing to do with us.

I support you in taking legal action against her. It resembles my story of my cousin taking my moms wedding ring that i was to inherit. It crushed me

@@thecoloringoasis5616 no i did not have support from my siblings. i know my brother could have scared her into giving it back. I kept asking for the will so i could getproof for a lawyer. but it wasnt to be found. the sad thing is when my cousin dies, the ring might go with her. there is more pathology on this cousin. my sister and brother thought she was working on my dad to inherit the house . our childhood home in which I am living in and had to buy fom my siblings.it is so traumatic isnt it? But i am with you one hundred percent!

How do you feel about the fact that all the images were generated by artificial intelligence? There are visible defects that a real artist wouldn't have allowed. Do these defects in details hinder your experience?

Depends on which book you are talking about. That might only be the case for the Hawaii book. All of the Deborah and Mythographic and Joshua Dunbar art is original. Regarding the Hawaii cbook, not AI, but digitally software created. A lot of people get these two interchanged. So any of us could go onto Canva, make a coloring book, by pulling in different types of black-and-white line, art clip, art Images, and make collages or assemble pages. Or you could do it in Photoshop or adobe illustrator, use various forms of clip art or individual line images And make up a coloring page. Although this is different than AI. AI is more prominent with the grayscale coloring books right now and they look more humanlike - less like thick and thin black line drawings. Personally, I have two or three black-and-white books line art digital books that I really like and all the others I hate. And I have a few ai books I like and others I hate. It’s the ones that are cheesy and done by people in their living room thinking they can make a buck that looked terrible that I send back or won’t buy. And you can usually tell because they have a very cheap looking cover. And looks like it was done on a website software. That being said, digital art is a real art, and takes skill to know how to use Photoshop, illustrator, and even Canva. I’ve had to do a lot of designs in Canva for promotional materials and it takes a long time to learn and to make things look decent. It’s OK to have coloring books with clipart or digital assembled collage art if you enjoy it. My general feeling is whether it’s AI, digital art, clipart, or however, it was made, you have to be able to visualize beyond the uncolored black-and-white what you see on the page to what it might look like colored. In the end, what matters is if you like the look of the colored pages are you enjoy it. You don’t know until you see the book. I’ve seen people with AI and clipart that do gorgeous colored pages. You wouldn’t know the difference once it’s done. That’s what matters. In the end, the color would hide a lot of those discrepancies. I demonstrated this in my “what I colored in May” video when I showed the Sarah Richter mermaid page from her brand new book that looks almost entirely digital and AI combined. Done with alcohol and markers it looked gorgeous, but I hated the fakeness of the book. So, it just depends. If I’m just coloring for fun and relaxation while binge watching Netflix using chunky markers, I’ll color anything even ones done in Photoshop or AI. If I’m putting in my best effort with my best mediums, using my advanced or intermediate skills, I will only choose original art. In the end, just visualize what it would look like colored and go by what you like - don’t worry about how it was made. I can usually tell by the terrible covers. It’s not one I would bother to buy, but sometimes if the covers look decent and you see a few pictures of decent looking pages on the sale listing such as on Amazon, I’ll still buy the book and give it a shot. That’s why it’s great. They have free returns. I’ve been surprised both ways many times. I don’t obsess about how the art or books were made. I just go buy what looks nice and what will look great colored or that I will enjoy. I think that’s what matters.

@@thecoloringoasis5616 Thank you very much for such a detailed and informative response. I am interested in this topic, and I plan to launch several coloring pages. Perhaps you would like to take a look at them or color / review them if they interest you? I would be happy to provide you with free copies.

I too had a stepmom. She started dating her neighbor 3 weeks after my Dad died. I was not pleased, as u can imagine. My Dad changed his personality to stay married to her, but the last couple months of his life, when he knew he was dying, his 'old' personality came back and he was the Dad I knew and loved from my childhood again. I was very sad that he repressed himself so long just to keep the peace with the stepmom. I still blame my Dad for it also. It was him that did it to himself. There was a time they almost got divorced, but didn't where he was alone with me at a lunch, and I was advising him to pursue happiness, even if that meant being alone 4 a while. He told me he couldn't be alone. I didn't really understand, but I said sure you can, you can just date a variety of women, you don't have to get married. He told me he knew himself too well. He would date for a bit, fall madly in love and would have to get married. I think he finally decided to stay with the devil he knew as opposed to starting over for marriage #3.
