Advertised as an antidote to chaos, 12 Rules for Life (2018) assesses humanity’s most pressing concerns through the ages and compiles their solutions in this handy self-help book.
Drawing on psychology, religion, philosophy, literature, and personal experience, author Jordan B. Peterson seeks to eliminate life’s chaos and confusion through the compilation of 12 simple rules that address the deepest questions of humanity. Challenging such questions as, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” and “Why isn’t life fair?” Peterson crafts a solution to truly living our best lives through adherence to his twelve consistent principles.

If you want the full experience as the author intended it to be we encourage you to buy the original book
I have heard Jordan Peterson online and have been very impressed so I bought this book, expecting to be very pleased. I must say, I am halfway through the third chapter, and I'm so annoyed and disappointed with his stupid belief in stupid evolution that I'm not going to bother to read the rest of the book. How can someone that smart be that ignorant of the facts in front of his face?
I thought the summary would be a great idea but changing the rules changes their meaning and made this really frustrating.
As someone who at this point probably has 100+ hours listening to JBP's talks, his detractors and all the noise surrounding him I feel I can say this with some confidence: These 26 minutes are probably somewhere near the sweet spot of a good lifetime exposure to JBP. Listen to this, take what you can use from it, and then move on. This has some solid advice but on average it's downhill from here, honestly.

If you _really_ want more I would strongly advise you instead just read up on Jung, Nietzsche and the old stoic trio (Seneca, Epicurus, Aurelius). Y'know, form your own opinions directly from the source instead of having it filtered through a contemporary culture war narrative by your most talkative uncle.
Peterson has some good points but also other ones that are far from reality.

Could you provide an example please?
Terrible simplification of the book.
This was HORRIBLE (but interesting). Yes horrible! I have studied JP for sometime now and your explanation is NOT correct on like 40% of JP’s points!!! I almost got the sense that you were putting out what you want people to know but attracting them with the false bait if the title and picture! Horrible!

I guess it wouldn't be a video about JBP without someone in the comments taking it on themselves to decide that maker of the the video _just doesn't get it, ackshually_.
