I am reading this poem at my grandads funeral who is from Tintern in Wales and this has helped me in my understanding of the poem, and I think my grandad would really like this, thank you!!

Just a small extra point of interest.The River Wye is the border between England and Wales.On the right of the river is Wales and on the left England in the photo.

William Gilpin's book ‘Tour of the Wye’ which is published in 1782 describes an area littered with factories and furnaces sending up clouds of smoke into the sky above. He also details homeless people taking shelter in the ruins of the abbey itself.
