Aquarius Records - Sum 41 is a Canadian rock band from Ajax, Ontario,[1] active since 1996. The current members are Deryck Whibley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jason McCaslin (bass guitar, backing vocals), Steve Jocz (drums, backing vocals), and Tom Thacker (lead guitar, backing vocals, keyboard).
In 1999, the band signed an international record deal with Island Records. The band released their debut album, All Killer No Filler in 2001. The band achieved mainstream success with their first single from the album, "Fat Lip", which reached number-one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and remains the band's most successful single to date.[2] All Killer No Filler was certified platinum in the United States, Canada and in the UK.[3] The band has since released three more studio albums: Does This Look Infected? (2002), Chuck (2004) and Underclass Hero (2007). All three albums were certified platinum in Canada.
The band often performs more than 300 times each year and holds long global tours, most of which last more than a year.[4] They have been nominated for seven Juno Awards and have won twice (Group of the Year in 2002 and Rock Album of the Year for Chuck in 2005). Chuck is the fourth studio album from Canadian rock band Sum 41. The album was released on October 12, 2004. It is the band's last album to feature lead guitarist Dave Baksh. He left the band on May 11, 2006 to pursue his own career with his new band Brown Brigade.
The album is named after a UN peacekeeper Chuck Pelletier, who was in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the band was filming a documentary for War Child Canada. Fighting broke out during the filming and Chuck helped the band evacuate from their hotel during the fighting (Chuck was staying in the same hotel during that time). The album received positive reviews from critics, and it won a Juno Award in 2005 for Best Rock Album of the Year. The album was certified platinum in Canada and gold in the United States.[1][2] In an online poll, "No Reason" was voted the favorite song, with "We're All to Blame" coming in second.

I tried to be perfect But nothing was worth it I don't believe it makes me real I thought it'd be easy But no one believes me I meant all the things I said If you believe it's in my soul I'd say all the words that I know Just to see if it would show That I'm trying to let you know That I'm better off on my own This place is so empty My thoughts are so tempting I don't know how it got so bad Sometimes, it's so crazy That nothing can save me But it's the only thing that I have If you believe it's in my soul I'd say all the words that I know Just to see if it would show That I'm trying to let you know That I'm better off on my own On my own! I tried to be perfect It just wasn't worth it Nothing could ever be so wrong It's hard to believe me It never gets easy I guess I knew that all along If you believe it's in my soul I'd say all the words that I know Just to see if it would show That I'm trying to let you know That I'm better off on my own

This song was playing on the radio, luckily I was with my mother. Immediately I asked her "hey mom what's this song called" "sum 41 - pieces" that was 2017, but ever since it reminds me of that moment - I was staying at my aunties going through trauma and it's what I needed at the time my aunty is narcissistic to me and my mother, I'm 20 and very thankful I got to repair me and my mothers relationship I don't judge her 💖

Reminds me of walking alone in the streets of Halifax in my college years into going to walking to work at 5am. Isolated, being left out on all the fun others were having, and socially awkward despite trying to be friendly with anyone who talked to me. Now I got a house with a big landmass in Nova Scotia, with no one to share it with, other than my dog who lives with me and family who comes to visit. The song, along with the video, captures the loneliness of living in a big city and in a way, rural Canada.
