Fun fact, when Sum 41 wrote this song, Deryck Whibley was actually heard saying, "and in a few years when people look back on our music, I hope they argue of mundane things such as being born in wrong generations. If our fans can do that, then we will live on forever"

This song means so much to me. Don't care about social constructs and conforming. Dont worry. I love this song becuase it tells me to be myself and not care about what everyone thinks. Just have a good time, that's all you can do. Don't waste your time trying to make yourself like them. It may work, but you won't be satisfied with the results of your own efforts. But at the same time, this song is about them having fun being jerks. Have fun, but don't be a jerk.

Gotta say that I agree. This song pretty much just screams FUCK YOU SOCIETY! Which is basically the message of punk rock. And Chris, no doubt that Green Day has some amazing classics that have very similar messages, American Idiot and Geek Stink Breath come to mind, but if I had to pick 1 song from the kinda late 90s/early 2000s era that epitomizes the genre, I think this gonna be my pick.
