Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits - Ukulele Tutorial with Tabs

New Ukulele Tutorials every Monday and Wednesday, subscribe and learn!
Today we are going to learn how to play "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits on the Ukulele. This song is super interesting for a couple of reasons, the primary being it is a smash hit, billboard success, and the chorus... has NO LYRICS! Crazy, but the chorus is just a riff, an insanely iconic riff, but just a riff.
Another interesting aspect of the song is that it follows a Verse-Verse-Chorus-Verse-Verse-Chorus-Verse-Verse-Chorus format and the the two verses are different lengths, one being 18 and one being 20 measures! So you have 38 measures before you even get to the chorus! Very non convential and a song like this would have a very hard time finding its way to the radio in today's music climate and culture.

Very good, maybe a little bit out of my capabilities atm but I might use the strumming bits only. I can always come back to this in a few months, thanks. One of my favourites, now I just need you to do 'Guitar Man' (Elvis) and 'Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry)

Hahaha, okay Rob, was it the note for note on screen tabs that broke down each section exactly as they are played that made it so hard to follow? hahahaha.

@@TenThumbsProductions hey man if you are truly dedicated to teaching then you have an attitude problem! the purpose of teaching is ti help the student acquire certain skills and not to ridicule....you went too fast...meaning you merely demonstrated that you can play it...good for you...but not for me.

@@TenThumbsProductionsi think i am capable of playing it but you are not capable of teaching it...you are only capable of showing off and being a smart alec.

@@robfontall5364 look at the like to dislike ratio, why would 172 people like it and 8 dislike it, if it were poorly taught? That is 20 to 1. Ponder it. The answer is, because it is taught well Rob. It is above your level, or is too hard for you, you are looking for magic not a tutorial and you are lashing out instead taking responsibility for your learning. Rob.... come on man.
