Joker having a piano car is actually pretty cool. The last Suicide Squad animation had them fighting over a playing card that was literally "a get out of hell free" card, so them going to another realm or something isn't too crazy.

For the most part, yes, agreed. Although, there was that one DC animated movie, Gods & Monsters I think it was called, where they gave her a design that was trying way too hard to be edgy and dark.

@@meme0taker87 It looks like just a stitches tattoo to me, not that she herself was anything inhuman. It wouldn't be out of place for that universe though, I agree. I'm not disputing the lore of Gods & Monsters or anything. It's just that on a character design level it wasn't impressive. On the bright side it only got all of 2 minutes of screen time, so not a huge blemish on the otherwise universally fabulous Harley.

The fact that the character designs are made by the GOAT Akira Amano herself is so damn cool. Her artstyle improved so much since Hitman Reborn !

@@dvader518 I don't think there is any fully established term like isekai itself, but I have heard a lot of people informally refering to them as literally "reverse isekai." So things like Fate/Stay Night, Re:Creators or Cop Craft.

okay so the anime director, Eri Osada has directed Jujutsu Kaisen and Gintama episodes. the 2 script writers were behind the Vivy (also a Wit anime) Light Novels. and one of them is also the Re Zero (in my opinion the best Isekai series) Light Novel writer. one of the character designers, Akira Amano is the author and artist of Hitman Reborn, the other is Naoto Osoda, who was behind the character designs and was the animation director for the OG Digimon Movie. the music composer was behind Re Zero, Golden Kamuy, and Undead Unluck (yet to air but it's been confirmed). so yeah we're in the greatest of hands for this Suicide Squad anime.

Director is very experienced, but he is most famous for directing amazing episodes in many famous anime like JJK and GARO....etc. Author is also the AMAZING author of Re:Zero and Vivy: Fluorute Eye's Song. The Character Designer is also a Veteran, but he is usually known for being a Director rather than a Characters Designer. The Music is in safe hands; he did INSANELY well as the Composer of Re:Zeros music.

@@Bakuganluver23 Yea, for real. There's something more insane I forgot to mention. Akira Amano also did the Character Designs for the Psycho-Pass series. If you wathed Psycho-Pass you would know how out of this world the characters design are in that series. Now, the only worry I have is the story itself, but considering who the authors are, I have faith. But I still worry a bit that it could turn just another generic battle shounen. Let's hope it's not 🙏🙏🙏.

Fun fact, given that in comics characters are always going to other universes, an isekai fits like a glove.

The story is done by the author of re:zero and the character designs are done by the same person that designed the characters In psycho pass, so your in very good hands and wit animating the show so it’s gonna be good as well

So, yeah, studio animating is is WIT, of AOT, Ranking of Kings and SPYxFAMILY fame. As for the rest of the staff... Director is Eri Nagata (going under the pen name Eri Osada for some reason) and this seems to be their directorial debut. They previously did animation work and character design for a ton of anime, including JoJo, Strike Witches, Gintama and Kill la Kill, to name a few. Writers are Eiji Umehara and Tappei Nagatsuki. Tappei is probably best known as the creator of Re:ZERO...as in, the original novels. Eiji actually did script work on the anime adaptation, and the two would later collaborate to create Vivy - Fluorite Eye's and it's prequel LN. Character designers are Akira Amano (credited as "Original Character Designer") and Naoto Hosoda. Amano is the creator of ēlDLIVE and character designer for Psycho-Pass, while Hosoda, along with having done a ton of animation and design work, was also the director of Shuffle, The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, to name a few. Finally, composer is Kenichiro Seuhiro, who previously did music for Golden Kamuy, Re:ZERO, Goblin Slayer, and Cells at Work, to name a few.

The joker is my favourite villain outside of anime so i hope they capture his craziness in this anime

DC animated has a good reputation of being great and, so far the anime movies they've done have also been good! My favorite was "Batman: Gotham Knight" but "Batman Ninja" was also good. Considering who's involved, I have good expectations for this! Hopefully, it's as good or even better than the "Batman: Assault on Arkham" movie!

Saw this trailer as well, it LOOKS dope af. However, the isekai twist could be hit or miss imo.... Reserving judgment currently but definitely on my radar now

same character designer as psycho pass if you have seen that, and both the screenplay writers worked on Re:Zero with one of them being the creator and author of the novel itself.

It didn't dawn on me till I saw the dragon. I didn't think it was an isekai into a fantasy world for some reason I thought it was more along the lines of someone being isekaied into the DC universe and getting roped into working with the suicide squad. Side note like the looks of this joker but wont know if I can like him till I hear the laugh, or see how he is written. It goes without saying since everyone seems to think so, but Harley looks good too. Wonder if the Joker will be in the other world too or will it be Harley, among other members of the suicide squad.

Having the SS go crazy in a fantasy world is perfect. No need to worry about superhero’s stopping all the fun! I’m hoping to see either Killer Croc or King Shark, along with Captain Boomerang and Bronze Tiger. I can already envision a scene where Croc/Shark are attacked by some townsfolk because they think they’re a weird Orc or something. Boomer and Bronze Tiger would just look dope fighting a bunch of knights with boomerangs and claws. So excited for this!

Funilly enough this isnt Joker and Harley's first anime Isekai-esque adventure, like 4 or 5 years ago those two, a full rogues gallery of villains, and half the bat family got dragged back in time to feudal japan.

The author of re zero is in the production of this, i have great expectations for this

Director will be Eri Osada. Also, DC has been multiversing fantasy at parallel futures forever, so probably a wormhole or something Amanda Waller got a hold of. It would be hilarious if Truck-kun ends up being a factor.

This teaser feels like using two different anime cuz a second we saw Harley Quinn then the next second we saw Isekai people, orc and shit without any trace of any DC character in the same shots, this felt like a fever dream lol

Maybe it will be different, but a lot of isekai involves the character dying then ending up in some other world, so I assume in the first episode the Suicide Squad gets into shenanigans, die, then wake up in fantasy land. Which, compared to other isekai makes sense in DC funnily enough, with all the magic in DC.

Isekai normally means the protagonist dies and gets reincarnated into a other world. So the scenes from the real world are most likely from before their death

That's normally the case but not always the case. Most Digimon seasons are considered an isekai. An Isekai is just a subgere where a character is suddenly transported from their world to a new or unfamiliar one. Just saying it might not be a result of their death. With DC it could be anything

it's not always death, it just means they are in setting foreign to them. Could be virtual, could be moving between realities, a hero/villain transported/locked them into a different dimension, etc

80 to 90 % of the time it’s death but you also have being summoned or just finding your way through a portal, or putting on your vr headset and all of sudden the game world is real life. Unless Waller is only in the first episode I’m assuming they maybe just find some wormhole thing or something, going to different universes isn’t necessarily new to dc, or they could die considering they ARE the suicide squad, either way I’m interested

This actually looks great I'd like you to react to it. If you can, and thanks for the new knowledge because I didn't know a lot of the info that you said and did my own research.

This was the same for me as when the cyberpunk trailer dropped, I was like eh I'm not that interested then I saw the animation and which studio did it and I was like wait a minute.

The screenplay is Tappei nagatsuki who is the author of Re Zero so if he help making the anime this anime will be dark and have alot of drama in it

Mark has officially retired as The Joker ever since Kevin Conroy’s passing. He only ever voices The Joker when Kevin voices Batman. I feel like for the English dub they’ll get Troy Baker, who voiced The Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins and more animated stuff.

It's a mixture of my favourite media and my dads! he loved DC stuff! and I love trash isekai! I wish we could watch it together

Probably gonna be Troy Baker since he most recently voiced Joker in The Long Halloween Parts 1/2 and his voice sounds the most similar to Hamill’s.

Having the studio that did 3 bloody seasons of AoT make a series around a violent group like the Suicide Squad is going to work really well. Not in love with Waller's "fashionable" look here, but Joker and Harley look great. If the rest of the suicide squad look as good and they get cast with the right VAs, this's gonna be fun even if the story is garbage.
