Suffolk Day Trip: Lowestoft, RSPB Minsmere & Snape Malting Boat Trip
Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
Today’s video starts at the brand new Gull Wing bridge in Lowestoft, Suffolk. I’ve crossed the border from Norfolk into Suffolk.
My journey continues on to RSPB Minsmere in search of Adders and Bittern. I didn’t see either sadly, but I did hear the most beautiful bird song from a Nightingale instead. Never saw it, simply heard it.
My final stop of the day was at Snape Maltings to take the boat trip on Hagar. Leaving Snape Maltings Quay, we made our way down to Iken Cliff . St Boltolphs Church can be seen in the distance. I plan to return to film the walk to the church and of course to go inside.
We turn around and head back to the Quay. If you are ever in the area, do join the boat trip as it’s such a beautiful location.
The return journey took in the Reedham Ferry.
If you’ve enjoyed this video, please like, share and subscribe as it would be very much appreciated, thank you.

What beautiful weather you had for your escape over the border. Let's hope the bridge at Lowestoft is not being built by the same contractors who were responsible for the Great Yarmouth bridge! Glad you enjoyed the boat trip.

Fabulous weather on Sunday SW. Very fortunate. I’ll go back at some point to walk to the church. Quite a unique position there. It is the same ones …

That was lovely Leasa. The Bridge is an amazing design....very cool. Minsmere. This is the place which really accelerated my interest in Ornithology. As a child, I was a Y.O.C. member, returning to Minsmere several times a year, along with Cley (in Norfolk). For a moment, I thought you were going to be lucky enough to capture a Bittern on camera! Marsh Harriers were pretty special back in the 60's, now, they seem to turn up pretty regularly.......bit like Kites here in the south where they are 'ten a penny'. Nothing beats the song of a Nightingale....such a 'big' song from a nondescript LBJ (little brown job). You have to be lucky to see these little birds. You covered some ground on this trip Leasa....did you remember your passport? 😉

Thank you Gordon, I’m so pleased you enjoyed this video, thank you. Last time I was here, I was lucky enough to film a Bittern. I’ll get the link and add it for you in a new message here. The Nightingale was fabulous even if I didn’t manage to see him. It was a very busy day, I’m looking forward to returning to walk along the riverside footpath. I have a valid visa in my passport, so I was ok. I considered flying down…. as it’s always about the content creation 😂 but after seeing that aborted landing there a couple of weeks ago, I think I’m put off flying for life 😂😂✈️
