Hi ICR - Thank you for sharing this testimony. What is the drug that Sue was on?

Hi Shashi, the drug that Sue's on is olaparib, also called by its brand name Lynparza. It is a treatment for some people with ovarian cancer who have mutations in their BRCA genes. The ICR's Professor Johann de Bono's group led on the development of this PARP inhibitor drug, that is now approved based on our work for the treatment of ovarian cancer. We hope this helps. Best wishes, ICR.

Hi Esmeralda, there are some factors that can increase your risk of developing ovarian cancer. Having one or more risk factors doesn't mean that you will definitely get ovarian cancer. You can find out what these risk factors are on the Cancer Research UK website here: www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/ovarian-cancer/risks-causes We hope this helps. Best wishes, ICR.
Drug trial worked. So what is that drug that worked. Most imp info missing from your talk??

It’s a guide but not a true screening. They don’t have a true screening sadly. My CA levels and on a more sensitive test were good and normal. Nonetheless when a large cyst was removed cancer found, originating from Fallopian tube, with spec hitting two lymph nodes. ALL of it endo related. Perhaps in future screening can tie into better care for endo sufferers which was my entire menstrating life.
