Of all the techniques I've learned (X-Wing, Y-Wing, Skyscraper, etc), Matching Pair is BY FAR the most useful and effective one for me to cancel out candidates. Practice this one often, folks!! Matching pairs are amazing.

Short and sweet and useful lesson that is sufficiently slow and repetitive for me to remember the tips. With newfound skills have advanced to HARD sudokus. Play it one my phone, which means chief problem is forgetting to switch to little-letter mode. Also sometimes too confident of my skills, meaning I'm careless. The most 'game-changing' aspect has been to remember the columns and rows. No need to respond: I know you're glad of the support.

Robson Sousa Yes it is fun. I have found that many people give up too soon, because they have tried puzzles that require a knowledge of many techniques. It is better to master the easy ones before moving on. Using the step by step approach will help you have more fun.

what made you decide to put 2 digits and leave 1 cell blank without even any digits to compare to other cells to determine the right answer in that cells? and why 3&6?

These are called hidden matching pairs. Look at tutorials 23, and 24.

MY best suggestion is to know this..Sarah, whenever ther are 2 empty cells in a row column or block there will be a matching pair. There are other ways as well, look at my web site, scroll down until you come to the index of techniques and you find many tutorials and lessons about matching pairs.Look at lesson 3 as well.

Do any sudokus have multi answers

A true sudoku puzzle has only ONE correct answer. You probably had a puzzle which had what I call a Danger Danger. To spot these is essential to avoid 2 answers. I suggest you look at tutorial #21 and 32 kzread.info/dron/d8JaOdfEWcJOtwG6YayW0w.html

In a real puzzle the 3 and 6 will only go in those 2 cells. Hope this helps. This ia scenario only. You will understand as you progress further Hang in there It's fun

@@SudokuGuyDo we know for sure what criteria needs to be fullfilled first before realize where the 6 and 2 goes? I play Sudoku Senkai on Steam. I cannot find an effective technique when there's no 3 cells filled in a row, there's no matching pairs and nor the lines are filled enough, nor any boxes has 3 cells filled. I subscribed to investigate more videos from you, because all I could watch are your basics about sudoku in a playlist. Maybe I can find a brand new tecnique from your channel if I dig deeper.

Sir first you said the pair 36 36 in the middle block and the remaining is 5.. but 5 3 and 6 may come even in first block I mean in second cell in first row may contain 3 and 6 also apart from 5 since this row doesn't contain any number. All the three cells may contain one of the three numbers 3, 5 and 6.. I am little confused so tell me what is this matching pair about? You are making pair with 3 and 6 only, the pair can be of 3 and 5 or 5 and 6 slso 🤔??

This is not a puzzle but a scenario to show a technique of solving new numbers. I suggest you look at this again and if you are concerned as to what a matching pair is go back to the lessons 1-12 where I show what matching pairs are: Hang in there.

3:53 That logic doesn't work. You're assuming the 45 are going to be in that block. But with the way this example is setup, its very possible where the 45 is a 36 could also go.

Ah OK. I think it makes it a bit confusing though when you come across them on a real puzzle as you'll think back to this video & try and follow it. Really, for a demonstration, you should fill it out so that the matching pair works via the logic then it makes a lot more sense.

Matching pairs play a very important role in all puzzles from easy to very difficult.If you keep watching the videos you will see this happening often.
