I survived cardiac arrest a little over a year ago. I woke up from coma with my memory damaged and been relearning life. I'm grateful as less than 10% survive

My Family has a History of Heart Disease I was alway's told by my mom that my Grandmother Died at the age of 30 a massive heart but now listening to you it's got my thinking that she died from cardiac arrest my mom was ten when she died she said that her and her mom and young brother we're watching TV and they look up and thought that there mom had fell asleep but later found out that she had passed while they were all watching TV she was only 30 year's old and at the age of 68 my mom died of a heart attack as I think back she showed all the symptoms but we thought that she had the flu but what I was lost on was the fact the week before she had a full cardiac panel done by her physician she had a echocardiogram blood work panel she even had the test were they hooked her up to a machine and had her walk on a treadmill I forgot the name of that procedure So I didn't understand why didn't either one of these test pick up anything abnormal that's what I'm most scared about because as I get older I'm 52 now I'm scared of dying the same way they did I have high blood pressure and at one point I did have high cholesterol but not anymore the only medicine I take is high blood pressure medicine and my two inhaler's I stumbled upon your video's last thanksgiving and I've watching your channel ever since then and trying to learn as much as I can So that I can have a longer and healthy life Thank you for Sharing this because it's educating me more ☺️

Hope you're doing good 6 months later, don't over think it (only think about it slightly because of your family or don't think about it at all) I hope you don't die the same painful way they did, hope you survive until your dream age.

I just really learned the difference. I have a loving person who is going through this at the moment. The family said Heart attack now it is more on the Cardiac arrest side by your explanation. She just dropped and had to be rushed to the Hospital. She stayed in the ICU for days and now needs a pace maker to live. I may have to ask them and this makes this situation even more dangerous.. Thanks for the information.

I had a cardiac arrest after surgery for a Type A aortic dissection, Aortic valve replacement and repair for a right coronary dissection. This happened two hours after surgery was completed. The arrest was preceded by right ventricular fibrillation. The team at Barts Hospital London, England managed to get my heart going after ten mins. I was put into an induced coma for two weeks so that my condition could be managed. Still have a Type B dissection that is being managed by pills. Team at Barts were phenomenal in every way.

I'm now dealing with heart problems. Heart problems run in my family on my mother's side. Every one on her side died of congestive heart failure. I lost my mom, brother, sister who were in their 50's. I'm 64 yr old lady.😢

I have Hypertropic Cardiomyopathy Apical variant. I've had three "cardiac events" that felt like heart attacks with all the classic symptoms. You can see the "cardiac events" on EKG but no Troponin was detected. I was told this was just part of my HCM. The first one scared the living daylights out of me, but didn't hurt as much as I thought. The next two were less intense but scary nonetheless. I now have a loop recorder implanted (it's like an EKG or 24-hour holter monitor in my chest). Getting a new one in a couple weeks. This device improved my quality of life and stopped me from making uncessary trips to the ER. With my condition, and since my arteries are clear (I get checked every year), I'm more likely to have a cardiac arrest/Sudden Cardiac Death (SDC), where my heart just stops.

Hi Dr fritz tyvm now as you explained about people getting treatment of like my sister had head neck cancer she was doing both treatment at roswell and she was put in nursing home for care I told them signs that they should watch out for but it was to late for them to save her life now you're told me why in your explained about it tyvm 😊but I was just seating in the court room no problems but it felt like something Crack in under my right ear and then I was woke up afterwards not knowing at first were I was but I had to think about it I was like in cloudy mind I bend sober for 4 years not drinking alcohol I cut back on coffee and tea now I going to stop smoking more then ever if I did cold turkey in alcohol I can beat smoking guns make me coughing the patches don't stay on

My blood pressure was 180/90 in my right arm when it was check and 170/90 in the left arm was it necessary to get on a blood pressure pill. Really was against it and was going to try to lower it on my own and is it possible to get off I’m only month and a half on the blood pressure medication

Thank you for this video. I've been doing so much reading and watching of content on sudden cardiac death and you have articulated this information in such a clear, calm and accessible way. My Mum died last week from a sudden cardiac arrest. I've been going over and over it in my mind - wondering if she knew it was happening, if she was in pain, if she was scared. To hear definitively that she most likely wouldn't have known and would have fallen unconscious pretty much immediately is a comfort. She wasn't young, but also at age 69 wasn't extremely old either. 💜🪽 To anyone with cardiac issues - please get regular check ups with your doctor and always continue taking the medication they prescribe. My Mum wasn't doing this - unknown to us, her family - and now she is gone far too soon. 💔

You are mostly correct. However, sometimes even a defibrillator will not work. This does not mean you did something wrong. By all means, try CPR and defibrillator if available. It may work in many cases.

Dr my niece was diagnosed with pericardium effusion the pericardium was so full of blood that Dr couldn't do anything she died right there ho come Drs mis diagnosed her a few weeks earlier in the same emergency room

I believe my brother just died from cardiac arrest. He lived alone and was dead about 6 days before he was found.

Hi Doc Frita, I really love your videos about high blood pressure. I am middle age and battle with it daily. I am on 3 different meds and am always trying to watch my salt intake. I still battle with it though. I am 350 pounds so I need to loose 150 pounds but it is hard because I have other health issues that make working out nearly impossible.
