    Hey man, been LOVING the guitar tutorials. I started playing guitar at the start of pandemic and learned rather informally on my own. The way you go about explaining individual techniques in a way that doesn't gloss over small details (especially as a newer guitarist) makes it really clear what I need (and don't need) to be doing. Major thanks!

    This seems easy, but it's really not, string skipping it's the hardest thing to nail in fast playing, especially with distortion, just lightly touching the wrong string made a lot of noise.

    I really need to watch this! I've heard so much about it hahaha, the "spider" exercises too. But john Pettruci told me to try playing the same way fast that I do slow and that kind of set me back a year or two lol

    After 3 weeks of playing uncomfortable with plec and 2 hours of lessons, maybe it has a reason why I never go from bass shredding with 3 fingers to guitar... after 36 years of bass with fingers this is really hard for me. And the left hand can do medium shredding. I do experiment to play this with fingers. I have much more feel to the strings...

    You a pure alternate guy or you mix in economy as well? One note per string is pretty tricky especially alternate picked

  • @gavinbrooks100

    @gavinbrooks100

    Pure Alternate! Except for sweeping.. if you want to count that as economy. Started alternate from the beginning and I like the percussive consistency to it -- though there's nothing wrong with economy, I should practice it more!
