it's a big issue and taemin has talked about debuting too young. A lot of idols who debuted at 14/15 talk about how hard it was, and why it's an issue with idols debuting young again the past couple years.@@robinkitchen2182

Aside from Taemin being 14, the rest of SHINee debuted fairly young too. Onew & Jonghyun were both 18 and Key and Minho were both 16 when they debuted in May 2008 so they are closer in age to 3rd gen groups like BTS than some 2nd gen groups

When Taemin is talking about being 16 and 20 that is in Korean age. So, just so you know, what he was really saying was that when he debuted at 14 he figured by the time he was 18 he would be an adult and have a big change in who he was and in his career, etc. He began his solo career with his debut single "Danger" in 2014 when he was 21 years old and he was still one of the youngest solo artists at the time as well. (Taemin is only 6 months older than Kai from EXO and yet he debuted 4 years before EXO and 5 years before BTS -- he's the same age as, and in some cases even younger than, many 3rd gen. idols, and yet he has accomplished so much -- which is one of the reasons why he is so highly respected by EVERYONE.) Also, Jonghyun was not the leader of SHINee, Onew is and always has been the leader. Jonghyun was the main vocalist, who was one of the very first idols to be recognized as a songwriter and composer. Jonghyun wrote more than 70 songs in his career for SHINee, himself and other artists, including SHINee's "View" and dozens more. Jonghyun was a member of SHINee for 10 years and will forever be considered a member, so you shouldn't be shocked to see clips of him. Most of Taemin's career has been with all 5 members of SHINee, so when you talk about Taemin's or SHINee's history you are going to see clips with Jonghyun in them. He is part of everything that makes SHINee who they are and as fans we prefer that people not shy away from mentioning him or celebrating him as an artist because he is still very much with us and a part of everything SHINee does, even still today. Therefore, nothing is sad about SHINee's "Everybody" performance at the Tokyo Dome. It's Iconic. It should be viewed as amazing and groundbreaking, not sad. Please live in the moment when you watch SHINee and not dwell on the fact that what happened years later was sad. That is not what SHINee and Jonghyun would want or should be remembered for. Taemin wasn't sad remembering that moment, but he was remembering a joyful time of his life with all the members . Which means we should also try and remember that just because Jonghyun is no longer here, that that does not mean that just because we see him in a clip that it is a sad memory or moment. The way to honor Jonghyun's memory is to watch him in everything he did throughout his career and to react to his music and listen to his and SHINee's songs. Honor his legacy and don't reduce Jonghyun and SHINee's life to only this one brief moment in a long and trailblazing career. It's OK if it makes us a little emotional sometimes, but the way to get to know Jonghyun and SHINee better is to really spend some time getting to know them as the amazing performers that they are. All Jonghyun ever wanted was to make people happy through his work and to influence the world with his songs and lyrics. So, honor him by discovering what an amazing person he was and seeing exactly what he wanted people to remember him for. Yes, it's sad, but you don't necessarily have to make it that way if you just appreciate his work for what it is and live in the moment. Jonghyun's final words to the world were "Tell me I did Well." And that is what we fans try to do. By continuing to watch and listen to Jonghyun and SHINee's music and appreciating the hundreds of clips we are lucky enough to have with SHINee as a group of 5, we are showing Jonghyun that, yes indeed, you did well and your life will forever be meaningful to thousands of people. You will never be forgotten Jonghyun, you did well.

SHINee debuted in 2008. Taemin had his solo debut in 2014. This is his first solo since being out of the military. Jonghyun is the member who passed away but he was not the leader of SHINee, that's Onew. It's so funny how Jimin was territorial over his friend like Yoongi isn't allowed to be close to Taemin too lmao. Taemin and Jimin are really close friends and they also have a strong friendship with Kai from EXO. Taemin and Kai have been best friends since Kai came to SM shortly after Taemin, they were both around the same age.

when he debuted in SHINee, he was 14 internationally, they're using the Korean age here. Taemin was actually the very first artist from an active group to debut solo in SM, and he was only 21 at that time. then Jonghyun and Taeyeon debuted after him in 2015 also Minho has a solo album and a few music videos!

7:50 you're so right haha, Taemin is so introverted and shy off stage - complete 180 from his persona. I'd definitely recommend watching his new solo Guilty, it's super unique and Taemin is always pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable of kpop idols and their expression of sensuality, religion, sexuality, etc!

You missed the part where they talked about the fact that Taemin was promoting his first solo "Danger" when BTS was promoting their song "Danger" which is why it is so insane. 😂 Also, all of Shinee members have their own solo music so there is plenty to pick from!

This was such an informative watch. I knew of Taemin and his friendship with Jimin, but it is always a treat when I get to see this side of artists. Seeing Jimin with two artists that he truly admires...wow. The fact that Yoongi created this show to showcase the members, but other artists and actors, are benefitting and getting to share this side of themselves-little things we would never know that we hear firsthand. Shinee debuted in 2008 so Taemin was 15 (international age) at the time He has a friendship group called Padding Squad which EXO Kai, former WannaOne/HotShot now soloist Ha Sungwoon, former HotShot Timoteo, former VIXX Ravi, a non-celebrity friend and of course Jimin Shinee is still part of SM Pretty much everyone looks up to them and of course the biggest Shawol living his best Shawol life is Hoshi😂😂

Taemin was actually 14 when SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008. Taemin's birthday is July 18, so he didn't turn 15 for almost 2 months, which makes him one of the youngest idols to debut at that time. And SHINee was one of the youngest groups as well.

Taemin is sweet, but he's also a complete chaos demon weirdo who is utterly shameless. That is not a joke - some of the stuff he's pulled is absolutely legendary and he gets away with it. Yep, his music and MVs are dark, so I'm assuming that's in him as well. I appreciate how secure he is in his Taemin-ness that he really lets younger idol dancers shine when he does stuff with them. Not many people have it in them to do that and it's pretty great.

taemin was 14 whe he debuted with SHINee and 2 when he debuted as a solo artist. Taemin is the king of kpop and the most iconic Idol of Idols. He is really the best solo male artist in the kpop industry, right now. His artistry is unmatched

There was actually a big dating scandal between jimin and taemin lol (actually, if you google “high schoolers flirting under the bleachers” their picture will come up) No, but they are such cute besties and so so sweet to one another ❤

To know more about Taemin as an artist, there are so many documentaries available on KZread which tackles about him as an artist, how he prepared himself prior to his concert, studio recording, music shows performance, and MV shoots. Just type Taemin Documentary, and you van choose anything you like. If I am to know him more, I would pick the oldest to recent documentary. I also love The Stage documentary . Maybe some Shawols got a direct link, too.

Watched this on Patron earlier in the month but watching again since it was such a chill and fun vibe :) Taemin is such a soft-spoken person and it's no wonder so many idols call him and shinee their role models. It would definitely be cool if in the future, you guys checked out more from Shinee, they really are gems of the industry. Appreciate all the consistent content you guys have always put out, it takes a lot of commitment and time.

Taemin is using the Korean Ages....l don't know it well, but it's something like: If you're born, say, on June 10th, you are considered 1 year old at birth. Then when the new year hits on January 1st, you are considered 2 years old. So, in all these groups, when they say their ages, it could be 6 months to a year older than what we would consider their age in the US. Maybe even a year and a half older.

Hoshi wanted to become an idol because of SHINee,he's a successful fanboy (he's been to Key's house a few times,etc) SHINee shines as 5,of course it's sad when you think about Jonghyun but they don't want us to think about that: think about all the things they did and are still doing 💜 It's always fun to see people just learning about Taemin and SHINee;they were the boygroup that made me go into Kpop in 2011 so i can see how much they have grown

Hahaha, SHINee actually aren't part of the SM universe lore ("Kwangya"). What you're talking about is one of Taemin's MVs. :) When you mentioned that it seems like he's about the music, that's super true. And it's very true for SHINee, as well. Among SM's giant roster of idols, there's actually only six idols total who have released full solo albums (so at least 10 songs; anything less is a mini album). Four of those six people are SHINee members: Onew, Jonghyun, Key, and Taemin. They've been successfully balancing group and solo work for a long time, which is why so many other idols see SHINee's continued success post-military as aspirational. Definitely check out Taemin's solo work, SHINee's music, and the other SHINee member's solo work! SHINee has a giant discography covering basically every genre and each member has their own identity for their solo music. They're pretty cool.

Taemin joined SM at the age of 11 and debuted at 14 ( a couple months shy of 15)! So Taemin is very similar to Jungkook that his members basically helped raise him and which is why Shinee lets Taemin get away with everything. 😅 Same as Jungkook and BTS.

Taemin also plays the role of the villain in Guilty, although not entirely obvious. But I would be delighted if he was given the role of a super villain in some drama. Although Taemin for some reason does not really like acting in dramas, but maybe he will change his mind.
