I love this!! I finally tried this method without misting at all with an Echeveria variety and almost all the leaves sprouted babies, I was SO happy it finally worked!!❤🥰🙏🙏

wow... you mean I really didn't have to lay them on top of soil and mist them now and then? This is mind-blowing for a newbie like me =)

I discover this when I prepared a lot of suculent leaves on soil... but the I totally forgot about them. Then after like a mont and a half, there were roots!!!! And so I started to investigate and that's how I ended up here

Yeah! I’ve noticed it just makes them rot if the soil is wet
This is true. I had so many failed attempts where I would take the leaves and put them on top of the soil and mist them now and then which resulted in them dying. One day, I took leaves of a succulent and put them in an open box to put them in soil later. Well, I forgot about those suckers for weeks, and when I remembered to go check up on them, they all grew roots! No soil, no sun, no water. It just took for me to forget and abandon the leaves for weeks rather than caring about them every day for them to grow roots, lol.
I bought a jellybean succulent and a peacock echeveria and a bunch of leaves fell off while repotting. I remembered this video and placed the fallen leaves on a tray and actually forgot about them. Only one of the peacock sprouted roots, and all but one of the jellybean sprouted roots and have tiny babies. I’m a grandmother! 🥹😂 thanks for sharing!

Wow! That sounds great
I am just starting to learn about all this. I just became a first time property owner and have soo many yard ideas!!! Including a succulent garden
I am new to propagating from leaves & had no luck. They would grow roots & a tiny pup but then die & now I know why from watching your very informative video! I gave them water too soon. Now I will try dry propagation. Thank you so much ❤

At 3:58 what is the type of succulent to the left because my nan had one and it recently died and I want to surprise her with a new one (:
Water propped a handful. Those have very long roots now. The ones on soul have hardly anything. But now I’m worried to put in soil!

I put mine in soil after water and its worked great!
I was so confused as to when to plant it, mine has pretty roots and is looking strong
I'm trying but my leaves are all shriveling up and no roots. My main plant isn't looking good so I only have a limited amount of leaves before the whole thing dies :(

Im a newbie to succulents and I just got my first one! It is a sedeveria blue giant, do you have any tips for me? Like how often do I water or fertilize it, and do I change its pot?
@SucculentsBox

About watering, ideally, Echeverias can be watered once every week to ten days. However, this still depends on the size of your plant and pot. From Spring to Summer, keep the potting mix of your Echeveria slightly moist. From late Fall to Winter, water them less sparingly and let their soil dry out completely before giving them another drink. Echeveria rarely needs to be fertilized. But if you want, do this at the beginning of spring by using a slow-release fertilizer or a water-soluble mixed about half strength and used less often than recommended. When repotting your Echeveria, make sure that you do so right before its growing season and your new pot is at least 10% larger than the previous one so it has room to grow. For more details, you may check our blog here for general care guide for Echeveria succulentsbox.com/blogs/blog/echeveria-care-guide-101
Is it okay for a baby plant to be in moist soil for long? Like will it die like with regulat succulents in wet soil too long?
Can tiny leaves of the succulent be used to propogate succulents? Thank you for this great video and for the beautiful presentation.

Hi. If we propagate from young, small leaves, it will take longer to grow succulent babies. Because small leaves will not have enough nutrients to support new growths. So, I think the ideal leaves to propagate are bottom, more mature, and plump leaves

Dry propogation hasn't worked for me in Colorado. It's too dry. They end up copletely drying up very quickly.
It's the easiest way honestly. I like to put a plant with soil nearby. The roots will reach out and they are bright pink and thick for the most part. Indirect sunlight is key.

Can we put them in the room or does it have to be outside in indirect sunlight ? I like keeping the house on the cooler temp side

Actually it's better to put it at an indirect and bright spot. Make sure its climate is highly humid 🧡

Hello, can I propagate bear's paw type with air propagation? If yes, how long does it take to grow? Thanks!
@SucculentsBox
Жыл бұрын
One of the easiest way to propagate bear's paw is using its cuttings. Just cut a stem from the main plant and allow it to callous over for a few days. Then you just place it in some well draining soil and the magic will happen 💞 If you propagate it in growing season, its roots will start to grow after about 3 weeks!

How do they not dry out lol. I've left succulent leaves out and they've never rooted.
I'm currently propagating 2 3 or 4 succulents one looks like it's growing leaves but there are no roots is that normal i can't tell because what seems like leaves is very very small
@SucculentsBox

What propagation method that you applied for your succulents? If you used dry propagation, you have to wait for their roots being fully matured and the pups being transplanted to the soil, which would take about 1 to 2 months. During this period, you literally just have to wait and let the leaves do all the work in growing for you. Just make sure to check their roots at least once a week to see if they are still doing fine. So how long have you propagated them? When you see roots showing up, remember that healthy roots usually come in white or pink hue, so if they have darker ones or you see that they start to shrivel, it is a sign that they are getting too much sunlight. Move them to a less sunny spot to ensure a healthy pups. Hope these info can assist you well 💞

Can you tell specifically what happened to your succulent?
My succulents always seem to propagate well until the parent leaf start to die, I mist these propagations, is it wrong?
@SucculentsBox
Жыл бұрын
It depends on when you misted your propagation. There’s no need to water the leaves until their roots are fully matured and the pups have been transplanted into the soil, which would take about 1 to 2 months.
What if your leaves are dry?
@SucculentsBox

Don't water until roots begin to form. Then water well and let the soil dry out before you water again.
