    This is true. I had so many failed attempts where I would take the leaves and put them on top of the soil and mist them now and then which resulted in them dying. One day, I took leaves of a succulent and put them in an open box to put them in soil later. Well, I forgot about those suckers for weeks, and when I remembered to go check up on them, they all grew roots! No soil, no sun, no water. It just took for me to forget and abandon the leaves for weeks rather than caring about them every day for them to grow roots, lol.

    I bought a jellybean succulent and a peacock echeveria and a bunch of leaves fell off while repotting. I remembered this video and placed the fallen leaves on a tray and actually forgot about them. Only one of the peacock sprouted roots, and all but one of the jellybean sprouted roots and have tiny babies. I’m a grandmother! 🥹😂 thanks for sharing!

  • @SucculentsBox

    About watering, ideally, Echeverias can be watered once every week to ten days. However, this still depends on the size of your plant and pot. From Spring to Summer, keep the potting mix of your Echeveria slightly moist. From late Fall to Winter, water them less sparingly and let their soil dry out completely before giving them another drink. Echeveria rarely needs to be fertilized. But if you want, do this at the beginning of spring by using a slow-release fertilizer or a water-soluble mixed about half strength and used less often than recommended. When repotting your Echeveria, make sure that you do so right before its growing season and your new pot is at least 10% larger than the previous one so it has room to grow. For more details, you may check our blog here for general care guide for Echeveria succulentsbox.com/blogs/blog/echeveria-care-guide-101

    Hi. If we propagate from young, small leaves, it will take longer to grow succulent babies. Because small leaves will not have enough nutrients to support new growths. So, I think the ideal leaves to propagate are bottom, more mature, and plump leaves

    It's the easiest way honestly. I like to put a plant with soil nearby. The roots will reach out and they are bright pink and thick for the most part. Indirect sunlight is key.

    Hello, can I propagate bear's paw type with air propagation? If yes, how long does it take to grow? Thanks!

  • @SucculentsBox

    @SucculentsBox

    Жыл бұрын

    One of the easiest way to propagate bear's paw is using its cuttings. Just cut a stem from the main plant and allow it to callous over for a few days. Then you just place it in some well draining soil and the magic will happen 💞 If you propagate it in growing season, its roots will start to grow after about 3 weeks!

    What propagation method that you applied for your succulents? If you used dry propagation, you have to wait for their roots being fully matured and the pups being transplanted to the soil, which would take about 1 to 2 months. During this period, you literally just have to wait and let the leaves do all the work in growing for you. Just make sure to check their roots at least once a week to see if they are still doing fine. So how long have you propagated them? When you see roots showing up, remember that healthy roots usually come in white or pink hue, so if they have darker ones or you see that they start to shrivel, it is a sign that they are getting too much sunlight. Move them to a less sunny spot to ensure a healthy pups. Hope these info can assist you well 💞

    It depends on when you misted your propagation. There’s no need to water the leaves until their roots are fully matured and the pups have been transplanted into the soil, which would take about 1 to 2 months.
