Yeah. I think that’s why the series ends where it does….ultimately if a fifth season just showed them all retiring young and sleeping on beds of money in the Caribbean, or just starting their own companies, it could seem that perhaps there were never really any true stakes in the first place….. which, I guess is the point. The characters literally don’t know anything else or ultimately unimportant it is.

Technically Greg didnt betray Tom directly, he didnt know Tom was the proposed US CEO 😅 If Tom had told Greg that it was him, I am sure Greg would have aligned alongside him to secure a good position. The mystery of the new CEO was what made Greg try and secure favor with Kendall. 🤔🤔 but I am so happy my prediction was right. I just knew Greg and Tom would be the only family left. The tragic irony that the only 2 remaining family members in the company were the 2 outsiders is so fitting

Exactly, I think even Tom realized this at the end when he told Greg he’s still got him. Tom got the news and instead of telling greg directly he fucks with him and says greg “might” make it with a huge pay cut. Greg was looking out for himself and once Tom cooled off and was named ceo he realized Greg really is his only friend

Many wonder why Shiv voted against her brothers and some may say it's bad writing cos many might have wanted one of the Roys to be the CEO.. but this is great writing, almost perfect in every way! Whether it's Kendall, Roman or SHIV they're all f****n selfish af, they've always been, and most importantly none of them are capable for the job... Afterall, what Logan said about them that, "they're not serious people" is incredibly true. I think imo the show was always leading upto this, to make us realise how incredibly spoiled and unworthy each of the Roy siblings really are. I truly truly enjoyed the show and absolutely loved the ending.

In the first 2 episodes of the first season, the audience is introduced to the Roy Family the way others in their fictitious world see them, as rich, out of touch, entitled a**holes. This is the true Roy Family. Slowly, we see the family dynamics, our views soften towards the Roy siblings. Poor abused children of a very mean tyrant. And Logan IS a very mean man. I, personally, root for Kendall from Season 1 up to the 2nd episode of Season 4 which occurs the night of Connor's rehearsal dinner. We see mean, old Logan confront his children and he does apologize but we see his children for the real people we were introduced to in the first and second episodes of Season 1. They are NOT serious people. I stopped rooting for Kendall and I realized that Logan wss right all along. I am not saying that the Roy siblings' flaws are totally their own fault for we learned that they did endure a lot. Our childhoods shape us as the adults we become but the siblings are pretty self aware in their delusions and do choose to remain willing hostages to their abuser and fight to win the approval and position of CEO they were never, ever going to receive from their father. Logan may be a misogynist but he had no problem naming Rhea Jarrell as CEO. His problem was not with all women. It was with Shiv. Logan could never be anything but a powerful manipulator to anyone he truly loved because he could not be vulnerable. Love was weaponized. Those of us who rooted for Kendall rooted in vain because he could never have been a capable CEO. But I couldn't see it until Logan was physically taken out of the equation. It is a testament to Jeremy Strong's acting, his puppy dog eyes and the skill of the writers and directors that deluded me into believing Kendall should win. I will miss this show. It challenged one's mind and ability to see the forest for the trees. I hope it kills at The Emmys

Here’s my recap You could’ve skipped from episode 1 of the series to the end and it wouldn’t have made much difference, there was ultimately no point to Kendall Roy as a character. The series is just him being beaten and humiliated and backstabbed the same ways always. Most of the episode is just him being humiliated, even to the point where the writers revert him back to season 1 Ken so he can lose. Personally I feel like it was a waste of time. All that growth was for naught, he never had an actual plan or any moves or ever had some killer ruthless move planned for his siblings, no tragic Pyrrhic victory, the parallels between him and Logan were just a tease

They became children again, siblings who fight for father's approval. It's unfair that one has more than the others. They couldn't face it so they thought about anything that could help them to not give him this position. The death of the waiter is a very good point and it's very clever to bring it back here once we all forgot about this event. It's legit. The conclusion of the show is that power blinded them from being a true loving family.

The ending borders on bad writing. In my opinion - it should've been Roman wanting out combined with Shiv having a better path with Tom that naturally screws Kendall. What actually happens is Shiv changes her mind last second, Roman dogpiles & they sacrifice Kendall's soul for security. It feels weak & very "how do we make this depressing?" They needed another episode to flesh it all out. Very disappointed that Kendall's story boils down to: fails to kill Dad, fails to kill Dad again, is Dad's bitch, tries & eventually fails to kill Dad again, fails to kill Dad with the siblings, fails to kill Matsson. I don't think I've seen a character get fucked as often as Kendall. From Episode 1 it was just blow after blow. And it never amounted to anything.

So Kendall's dark-skinned little boy may be the son of a Rava affair, as Roman alluded to during the fight? I haven't seen any reviewer mention that line. Logan didn't like the kid, even slapped him at the Thanksgiving dinner, that Kendall insisted Rava and the kids attend in season 1.

  • @locket5279

Sophia was adopted. It sounds like Roman's comment was more Kendall and Rava were involved with In vitro fertilization for Iverson, not that Rava had an affair. Roman would not have been so nice with the comment if Rava had cheated on Kendall. Roman: "One is a buy-in, the other is half Rava and half some filing cabinet guy, right." Suggesting the other half was a frozen test tube. Seems like Kendall can't have kids himself so went with adoption and a sperm donor.
