    On the one hand, Logan was clearly stringing Shiv along with the training program he planned out to keep himself in charge for as long as humanly possible. On the other hand, though, I feel like 3 years of on the job training is actually not at all a crazy requirement for someone who wants to take over as CEO of a massive multi-billion media empire that they literally haven’t even worked in for a single day. Most people spend DECADES working up to that kind of post. It’s kinda nuts (but very true to character) that Shiv is like “damn, that sounds like a long time and a lot of work, can’t you just give it to me now??”

    Surprise, actual jobs require actual skills and work and talents and TIME, so much TIME. There's a reason it takes 10,000 hours to become an 'expert', that's 5 years at ful time 40 hours a week. It took me 8 years to work up to and get licensed for the job I have now, responsible for 10,000 customers health, 5 employees, million dollar budget, so something global in size should take far more.

    You are spot on. CEO tracks are years even for people who have executive experience or know the industry. If she could trust Logan, then this “fast track “ should be acceptable. Even people who start their own companies when they step aside as ceo, they get so one with massive experience

    something deeply satisfying about the Vaulter getting gutted scene. and Lawrence kinda screwed himself, Ken was the only one at Royco who was batting hard for Vaulter in the first place, not voting for him during the no-confidence sealed his fate since Logan couldn't care less for his company

    Seeing Logan Roy playing all his kids against each other is so sad to see. Puppeteer to all their strings. If I'd been Shive I've had stayed with my career separate from the mind games. Fair play to Connor, he's sensible to steer clear.

  • @Wolf6119

    @Wolf6119

    25 күн бұрын

    “Connor” and “sensible” rarely go together lol. Connor would LOVE to have a job in the company, I’m sure, but he’s so completely isolated from the family and pigeonholed as an idiot that he doesn’t even have a shot at the top job, and he knows it.

    @@Wolf6119 Is Roman not seen as an idiot? I'm sure Connor could also play pretend c-suite like the rest of the Roy siblings if he wanted to

  • @Wolf6119

    @Wolf6119

    11 күн бұрын

    @@ytkenny5 Well, Roman often WANTS to be seen as an idiot, because that’s the role he’s designated for himself within the family. At first, at least, being the family clown is his defense mechanism that gives him an excuse to not take things seriously and pretend none of it matters to him. But whenever we see him actually try to apply himself somehow and genuinely put in work (not often), it becomes clear that he probably has the best gut instincts for business out of all the siblings, as well as the most ruthless attitude towards fucking other people over. Meanwhile Connor, as we’ve seen, only gets WORSE when he’s given any kind of responsibility. He turns into an aggressive, micro-managing nervous wreck because he wants to make everything perfect. It does kinda work, to his credit, but it’s such a hostile and reckless management style that I think even Logan realized he couldn’t ever put Con in charge of anything important lol.

    @@Wolf6119 nah his soft spot for his family is a weakness for Logan. He has instincts but also oversaw the rocket disaster. He is legit an idiot and also has well thought out moments

  • @Wolf6119

    @Wolf6119

    11 күн бұрын

    @@LaCheeserie I mean sure, Roman is an idiot in the same way that ALL the Roy kids are idiots: arrogant, sheltered, and convinced the entire world revolves around them alone. Roman doesn’t know shit about rocket science but he still moved up the rocket launch to an earlier date because he wanted to show off, which caused the accident to happen. That’s textbook Roy self-sabotage and implosion, which all the kids do very often. Hell, even Logan does it sometimes. But when it comes to actual business deals, by which I mean the negotiating, getting a read on people, and trying to squeeze as much out of them as possible, Roman has the best instincts for that sort of thing. You’re right that he has a weak spot for family in this regard, but he’s also the one who is most easily influenced into disregarding that weak spot - I’m being intentionally vague here to not outright discuss stuff from future episodes (even tho the BW Crew don’t read comments), but Roman definitely has a capacity for cruelty deep down even for family, more so than even the others, that Logan always tries to goad him into.

    16:25 Shiv is the least experienced one, "decent one"? In terms of CEO and actual buisness there is nothing there, 3 year job training sounded reasonable, even tho it is just a play to deny Gil of Shiv's aid and thus information on Logan. It is almost unfair assessment of Roman. He certainly has good business sense, he is just not very good with specifics/routine of it all, but deals/decisions - Roman is the best one. He certainly knows what he is doing. Kendall - fair enough assessment.

    When I read in History about kings and Emperors who at some point ordered the execution of their own children or brothers for fear of them rising up and challenging their power and authority, I used to have a hard time understanding how one can do that to their own son.
