Just bought the blue and white 42mm. One of the nicest watches I have seen in a long time. As nice as my Rolex sub no date
Why do I love watching your videos? You show watches that I do no want to buy or cannot afford. Yet, each week, I set aside some time to enjoy your reviews. Thank you.

Thank you very much.
I tried some out today, they do look great on the wrist! I wasn't convinced by the pictures and early reviews but in reality I really like it. It's quite a step away from the outgoing model (which I like too, more of a toolwatch vibe on that one). Great summer watch, so I got one (blue/black one on the blue rubber strap, which is awesome, by the way) and I'm getting the bracelet after the summer to switch things up. The mint is super nice too, but as you say, a bit limited, I don't think it's that versatile. Having said all that, I miss my 'old' (outgoing) SuperOcean 44, I may still get one while I can, to be honest
I like them. It's great to have something with a unique look and I like that it evokes their heritage models. Every time I see square indices on a watch, it makes me wish even more that Tudor used them on their Black Bay lineup. Sigh.
I don’t have as favorable a view as you do because of movement/power reserve issues but I want you to know that it was good to hear a differing view from somebody I respect. I do have more appreciation of the aesthetics after watching your video. Best regards and thanks for the your ongoing video work.

Thanks for watching and the kind comment.
That blue and cream version would look simply superb down at the yacht club! Bronze on skin though? Asking for trouble with staining and possibly allergic reactions. The slow motion feature of the original would actually be a useful complication. Shame they didn’t use it. Perhaps Breitling should stick to aviation style watches.
Dig them, think they look absolutely smashing - especially the navy/off-white combo 👍
I think this is a nice re-do, in the 42 mm. Of course I would have preferred a 40mm. Definitely will work on picking one up.
Like it! and they do a 36mm for those of us with Skinny wrists!
Beautiful pieces, and you're right: they bottled the chance to re-create the Slow Motion! I think that if one is going to identify the movement (C17) one has to identify it as an ETA 2824-2 with a Breitling rotor. Nothing for Breitling to be ashamed of, but they do charge about double the Swiss market for a new watch running a 2824-2.
I like the dark blue one. And I suppose 42 is the correct size for me.
The older Superocean was a tad bland but tasteful. This new design is bold and recognizable but too busy for my tastes. It's not ugly, just busy. They nailed the color schemes though.
Breitling hardcore fans hate them. I, on the other hand, can say this is one of the few Breitlings I like. They look very much like Christopher Ward’s Supercompressors.
nice to see they didn't try the "compressor "case wouldnt mind the slow motion tho
I don’t know about anybody else, but this particular design makes it very hard to tell the time. I would happily buy the previous version any day over this one. Thanks for the video bro
I like it! Great looking watch with reasonable specs at an affordable (luxury watch) price from a major brand. If i didn't have a lot of divers already, I'd buy one. I still might, once i have a chance to see and try them on in person. Haters love to hate, but what few of them mention is the ambitious and inclusive approach by Breitling to make the multiple case sizes to suit multiple wrist sizes. These are going to sell very well IMO.
I like them. Bold, recognisable design and something that is not just an SKX or Submariner clone. Which they would brought back the original chronograph feature, nevertheless. The watch world needs for funky and functional features and less tachy scales and rotating 24h bezels without chapter rings.
$5,000-$7,000 for an ETA2824 is a choice.
I can honestly say that I have zero interest in any of these.

I was the same, Micheal. But after trying a couple on it totally changed my mind. It doesn't scream 'expensive' watch, thankfully, but still gets a lot of attention. Try one on and see if you still feel the same. They genuinely look so much better in person than in pics etc. Cheers 😊👌
Dark blue on bracelet looks OK but overall I like other Breitlings more.
Now I want a superocean slow-motion! That dual purpose seconds hand is amazing but chronos (sadly) are bought to look nice not to do anything clever or useful.

@@IDKline i suppose the ubiquitous (and baffling) 30min chrono dials are quite good for pasta - or even brown rice in an emergency!
Sind alles sehr schöne Modelle. Würde sofort eine nehmen.
Interesting dial but for Breitling B17 read Eta/Sellita or who knows movement. Too expensive therefore.

Bizarre conundrum. I know that if its "only" an Eta/Sellita it will be absolutely fine having quite a few of those movements. But "in house" implies something better but until you have spent your money and run it for a while you just don't know.

@@philspencelayh5464 The movement Breitling uses for in'-house three handers (such as the Superocean Heritage 2 models) is the same as is used in Tudor models. Tudor shared the movement in return for Breitling sharing the B01 chrono movement for their chrono. It's a well proven in house movement. Breitling cheaped out in this case. I have no problem with that if they are transparent but their use of "B17" shows not.
To my eye, a watch I would want to have but I acknowledge there is often a fine line between ugly and beautiful.
Mint dials seem to be a new favourite of yours Tim. That bronze caseback makes my wrist itch just by looking at it.
I think this watch is getting a lot of hate for no good reason. The old watch was boring already and this is a new change. People complain about the square minute hand, yet Tudor BB is so popular with a similar hour hand. Nitpickers.

It is massively over priced for the movement provided.
Such a weird jump 36 to 42, why not also have a 38 or 40.
I am torn about this; I love the way this watch looks; it's design is really nice. However, why put a second rate movement inside? You have the BO1. Why not use that movement?

Your pic is that of the 46mm. And the watch wears 1mm smaller than every size. 44 is the best side for anyone with a wrist 6.5in or bigger. And bronze doesn’t come in 46mm. Just 44 and 42.
I think the minute hand needs more lume...
I actually like these ,It's very similar to my Doxa 300T ,like the symmetry with a no date,a little over priced but looks lovely and much more practical than the previous model
Unlike its historical predecessor this one has very busy (or even clumsy) dial for no practical reason.
Saw this watch yesterday on instagram & think what an ugly microbrand, but then seen that it is Breitling, lol. Really don't like look of this watch. Original watch at 1:30 looks much better in my opinion.
Breitling as a brand is acting pretty ambitious these days, a lot of new designs. Very few are interesting or offer much more than the B on the dial as far as I can tell.
With that over busy design the 46mm looks the most balanced, but who wants a 46mm , this looks like oversized cheap quartz Japanese watches .
The original looks really cool, this just looks like a badly drawn / ill proportioned black bay homage
tired of diver's ,for me to buy a diver (ever again) it must be 'extraordinary'lol
Breitling’s now look like Citizen’s. This model looks like the Promaster BJ7111-86L GMT. I own 10 Breitling watches and their new series have been one disappointment after another. I think Breitling’s new advertising campaign should read “psst..you wanna buy a watch….?” I don’t think so.
I like the blue but the others less so. Expensive for what it is. Like most "luxury " brands they are charging a lot for the name on the dial, not the performance.
Did Rolex sell them those dial colors?
Looks like Zelos watches. No originality.
Save your money and buy a Citizen Promaster BJ7111-86L, which the Brietling seems to want to hommage.

zodiac copy
Picture is of 46mm
Grody to the max! Even Spicolli wouldn’t wear this. Pass.
First!
Not a bad looking watch, but how did the lamebrains who run Breitling decide not to make any watches in the sweet spot of between 36mm to 42mm?
I have the previous version , I feel they could have just tweaked that IMHO , remove the date , add the new clasp (which does look good) and maybe a ceramic bezel. This seems like a big step back to the bling Breitlings of old. The hard pull to swallow is the price increase , At least with old model is was substantially cheaper than a Seamaster which made the ETA Movt a non issue. I guess we don't all have to like the same things , but this is a pass for me. Yes it has a vintage vibe and a homage to the old watch but I don't think that watch looked very nice either. Perhaps a the more toolish look of the previous model made it a poor seller ?? The Super Ocean never got much love so maybe they may as well make it a bit more blingly to stand out in the AD window. I think as enthusiasts we all think watches are aimed at us when in reality most luxury watch purchase are bought by lay people so the Movt and upcharge probably wont be a factor.

@@CaptCanuck4444 Fair one, the old one must not have been a good seller other wise they wouldn't have discontinued it. I got a pretty hefty discount on mine.
The original looks really cool, this just looks like a badly drawn black bay homage
No thanks. The design doesn't appeal to me and even if I liked everything else about it, the minute hand would prevent me from buying one.
The minute hand ruins it for me, otherwise it looks nice. But they really need to ditch the ETA movement at that price.
Success.
That second hand is really odd
For an homage to an original they really didn't care much. They didn't even bothered to engrave the caseback like the original one. The clasp doesn't match the aesthetic. Looks like a Rolex clasp. The lasered? Breitling on it looks cheap. The bezel is not secured anymore and have a little spiel while turning. But if is glossy now! It has 700m leas water resistance. A selita movenent and it costs 500€ more than the SO before.
I think they're a terrible value and not very attractive. For MUCH less you can get a Tudor with an inhouse movement, hell even a inhouse GMT movement, you can get a much better looking Oris with a 5 day power reserve and ten year warranty or for just a few bucks more you can get an Omega. You can even get a new albeit grey market Fifty Fathoms Bathyscape for around the same price *as the Omega. I don't know what Breitling was thinking this is kind of a ripoff.
I’m a dive watch collector and this gets thumbs down the minute track is silly and the hour hand is ugly. I get it’s a referenced version form the 60s but they should have left it there. Honestly I don’t really like Breitling since Mr Kern took over. I would take the Super Ocean Steelfish from some years ago instead of this any day. Looks like a cheap mall watch sorry.

Breitling screwed the pooch with this new SuperOcean. The older version was better.
Absolutely ruined the SuperOcean model, in my opinion.
Big head. Small face. Not handsome this week!
