Before i acknowledged everything u say. And your wisdom. I gotta to know how old are u?

What I wish I knew in college was that I needed to find what resonated with me most and less about molding my life, and future, to what potential employers would want. I was listening to Brene Brown on audible the other night, she touched on the issue of creativity slump, and how that really affects our ability to grow and offer our best assets. She was talking about how children get to 4th and 5th grades and stop making art from a creative place and start making it from a comparison place. They examine what others are doing and mirror that, essentially losing the essence of their own true creativity. I have seen this when I taught art to elementary school kids. It's real. I think this is what's happening when we fashion our future to "fit in" to a certain requirement of what we believe will be required of us rather than discover what you can offer the world and then offer it. I think it restricts rather than expand a human soul. I'd say, experience clubs, and organizations, and college, all of it... to see what it reveals about you, not to mold oneself to what's expected. I don’t think grades matter much for career but if you ever want to go to grad school they will. :)

Thanks for your comment! I figured people would have this objection, which is why I state at 0:44 to take care of your GPA if you plan on attending grad school.

You're right that grades matter less the further you get in your career

I found this to be an extremely validating video for a student like me. I've never been the best at school, but I still want to gain transferable skills to apply in a nonacademic career. Its true, my GPA will not matter as much for the career I want. I should take this time to build my pyramid! Thank you Stacy!

I'm so so happy to hear that Malia, this was one of my main intentions with making this video- worrying about grades is honestly a waste of time! Your experiences & skills (specifically marketing them well) is so much more important, and I know you have plenty of those :D

I definitely learned that life goes by super fast in college, but it's definitely beneficial to enjoy the moment and make those memories. Loved this video. :D
