It’s so fun getting caught up with your projects. This one and the “fail” before it are so wonderful. It’s just a very pretty stone and you captured it beautifully. I do like the gold - and it doesn’t look unreal. It looks like it should be there, if that makes any sense. Thank you for your charming work.

The next time you need bits of gold, try baking your gold for ten minutes and grating it with a food grater after it’s cooled! You get shavings that crumble nicely and randomly.

Sheer genius. I'm like you, I don't do gold and always thinking I must get some gold findings but then there's always something else I want so the idea gets put back down to the bottom of the list :-) x

I use light brass for so much of my work. It holds up better than gold colored. It’s versatile for different things then of course silver for other things. Cuts back on having so many colors of findings. Juan a thought.

A fantastic piece. I like to use that technique, wrapping the little pieces of clay with powders: either mica, or pastel. The powder forces me to sand, recognizing with it, that although I do not like to sand, sometimes doing it is extremely magical. Thanks, Kathryn. Samantha, (Jessama tutorial) has taught us a lot. You pendant of previous video is also beautiful. Un abrazo grande

Love this idea better than paint myself, I have nothing but trouble with paint. Certainly a cool technique, and you can't get as good a shimmer of acrylic paint than you can with using mica'd clay. Thanks again Kathryn. Love this. 👌💐💓

Thanks JoJo, I always say its my choice not to add paint, and folk have shared some lovely pieces with my technique using paint, but just from experience, its not a good result for me, and if your making to sell, I want to know that things will stand the test of time not crumble .... yes it fell to bits a week after making..(faux turquoise) ..I was just giving it a polish with my Dremel .... like it hadn't bonded within the clay and weakened the pendant...so no paints for me xx

I've been having so much stress with Fimo, from conditioning to stickiness etc, that I'll just stick to Premo or Cernit for the moment, I used to love it! it was my 'go to' but I'm afraid with my arthritis, the battle is just to painful ha ha, tbh I'm still not a fan of the paint in the clay, but using liquid clay is working a treat x

Hi, No I haven't ..... I have used it, but not in or on raw clay ..... I would have to test it to ensure it doesn't break down the clay over time etc....and TBH I prefer to use liquid clay for most techniques as you've probably seen in my other vids, I don't even use acrylic paint, just my preference xx

Okay so last question, and apologies from an old lady. Since it was the embossing powders that wasn’t bold enough in the other video have you tried curing embossing powders within the clay doing other projects? Because I have heard that baking inside clay (not on top of) the powders don’t cure. Have you found that to be true or not? A million thanks again.
