Nope, signal system prevents that. Speed limit there is 15mph. Momentum kept it going.

Conductor does NOT operate the train. Its a Motorman, an Operator, or an Engineer. Conductor collects fares, opens doors and makes announcements. They do not control the movement of the train.

On a freight train, engineer controls the entire train movement wise. There is usually no conductor. They sometimes have another crew called a fireman (and sometimes an auxiliary conductor) that helps with car coupling and other tasks. But only the ENGINEER moves the train, not a conductor.

Not true. The engineer or driver cannot move the train unless the conductor gives him the signal to do so. This is true of both passenger and freight trains. The train operator is responsible for the safe movement of the train to the next scheduled stop.

Who?

The train operator was just being considerate of the passengers, and letting them off at the top of the escalator. So that way, they wouldn't have to walk down the platform and ride the escalator to the top. When you are trying to catch a flight, every minute counts. The train operator should get an award, for good customer service. :)

I worked at ohare airport, building the new international terminal. In about 1995, maybe. They were talking about extending it even then. And they must have tested the trains a million times.

この事故は2014年2月、深夜の時間に元住吉駅構内で起きた追突事故ですよ。 確か雪によるブレーキの制動距離が長引いたことで元住吉に停車中のみなとみらい線編成の各停元町・中華街行き(8両)に後続の東急車各停元町・中華街行き(8両)が突っ込んで、その後両編成は廃車になったそうです。

I mean i can forgive news stations a little bit since they don’t have much train knowledge, but they probably just pulled the first model of a locomotive off some database and didn’t think twice. Edit: they found a CSX locomotive at 4:18 that looks accurate, but used a passenger locomotive for the rail link derailment which is mildly infuriating
