    Jesus died and rose agian if you believe that he died and rose and were saved by grace through faith alone you will be saved. Once Saved Always saved no need to repent from your sins for salvation.n

    Amenr! It is easy to slip into error after constantly hearing how we need "evidence" and "fruit" of salvation. This ruins our peace and plants doubt.

    Amen, brother. Thank you. It's so difficult to find anyone standing for the truth of the gospel. I STILL haven't found a sound church in my area. Thank God for sites like expreacherman and clear gospel.

    if you study rewards in heaven all the crowns are atributes of CHRIST as the parable of the hired servents says everyone receives exatly the same rewards in heaven and thats CHRIST himself in CHRIST we are perfect no more no less rewards for service is works too , we do works because even the unsaved do them so at least we should GOD will not accept our filthy rags

    I think this verse has more to do with obedience than salvation. James even used Abraham and Rahab as examples of this.

    +Dennis Scott I don't believe a person is added to a church by baptism with water. I believe salvation is by grace through faith and not of works. What you are describing in your comment is works salvation and yes, I am endeavouring to expose it as "another gospel" (ie. heresy).

    I agree with eternal security for the Believer unless you stop believing in Jesus and stop believing in His blood for sin and stop believing in the finished cross work of Jesus. There are many who claim to have believed in Jesus at one time but now reject Him and mock Him. Colossians 1:21-23 (KJV) Notice verse 23 "If ye continue in the faith": 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

    DavidElCid300 There's no security or assurance if it must be preserved by yourself and not God. These passages can be understood differently without compromising the doctrine of "eternal life", which is emphasised repeatedly throughout the bible and I believe that's the more sound position.

    The Church in Punchbowl I don't necessarily disagree BUT just continue in the faith of the finished cross work of Jesus and His blood for sin. Salvation is never, ever by works but by believing in Jesus and what He did at the cross. Romans 3:24-26

    DING DING DING Patrick Quinn, You are exactly the comment i was waiting for, It always amazes me when people just can't resist adding some form of work for us to "continue in" that relies on ourselves, people are fine with grace through faith but add God can't leave you BUT You can stop believing and leave God" But the bible says true believers WON'T LEAVE! Besides this the holy spirit is not just in us he is now a part of us! Being born again is a huge thing Your old self is removed God give us his spirit and we are a completely NEW CREATION we are not just humans who can leave, God is now in us and he himself guides in all things and convicts us when we sin it's on autopilot It is now our NATURE, our NEW NATURE will not leave God, besides this God says nothing in all creation can separate us So why would someone leave jesus, they don't just wake up one day and do it , it would happen by someone out there in the world changing our mind, but nothing can separate us, so a saved person is PRE DISPOSED to NOT LEAVE, just like it's in your nature to eat or breath We are a New Creature, this is an important piece that is missing from this argument!

    The difference is, one position saves, the other does not. You must believe the promise of God that once you trust Him to save you, you are saved. Justification and discipleship are different things. Judas was an unsaved disciple.

    Approx 20 minute mark the comment that you must "make Jesus your savior" is wrong. Romans 3:24-26 (KJV) 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

    The Church in Punchbowl Sorry I missed your comment from June 2015. I understand what you are saying and I understand your heart and intention, but let's just keep it scriptural, rightly divided of course and not add that we must make Jesus our Savior or that we must accept Jesus. The simple truth is beautifully spelled out in Romans right after the guilty sin charge (Romans 3:9). The Father has faith in His Son's blood for the propitiation of sin and He freely justifies all who believe in His Son. So what must we do to be saved? Have faith in Jesus' blood for our sin debt and then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to be freely justified and saved. Romans 4 proclaims that Abraham was counted righteous because he believed God and he was fully persuaded that God was able to do what He promised. So we must also be fully persuaded that we are saved having faith in His Blood and believing in Jesus alone with nothing added. Romans 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"

    Who is like EL in course of LIFE You are confused because you confuse the order of scripture, not rightly dividing. You approach scripture in a helter skelter fashion and therefore misapply scripture that was never intended for this dispensation and never intended for you. Question: Unto whom did Jesus say that He came to seek and save? Question: Unto whom was given the gospel OF the circumcision? Question: Unto whom was given the gospel OF the uncircumcision?

    Who is like EL in course of LIFE Well, you told me all I need to know. You are deceived and that is all I can say. You flat out reject God's one and only salvation plan for all lost sinners because you are blinded and on your way to the lake of fire. Good luck with all of your good works in the flesh. You'll need luck because no one before you has ever succeeded. No one!!! Satan has you all twisted and confused because he has blinded you from the only gospel that saves a lost sinner.

    @ 4:04 you say "Salvation is really simple, it's just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." So... what happened to the "strait gate... and narrow way that leads to life" that Jesus spoke of? And was the apostle Paul wrong when he advised the Philippians to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12)? And was Peter wrong when he wrote that we should "give diligence to make our calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10)? What you're preaching is easy to believe but it doesn't pass the "sniff test." Rather than latch on to a few verses that make salvation look easy, you should take *all* scripture into account to get an honest and correct understanding of the truth. One thing should be very clear to all of us: *if you do not repent of sin you will not inherit the kingdom of God.* This is what the Bible says: "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9,10) "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:19-21). "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience" (Ephesians 5:5,6). "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8). Please be aware that there are many today teaching that you just have to "believe" to be "saved." But as we've just read in the verses above, *if you don't repent of sin and put sin out of your life, you won't make it into the kingdom of God.* And if you don't make it into the kingdom of God, you won't be among the saved. Jesus did not die to make it okay for us to continue in sin. He died to make available a payment of the death penalty we have each earned for our past sins. That payment is available to us if we'll repent - turn from sin - turn from sin that brought the death penalty on us to begin with. Repentance goes beyond admitting your sins, and beyond being sorry for your sins, and beyond asking to be forgiven for your sins. Talk is cheap. Repentance means deciding to seek and obey God, resolving to change yourself and turn your life around according to God's will. Jesus said "My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it" (Luke 8:21). Why does God want us to repent? What is the purpose? What God wants - and is CREATING - is family: sons and daughters He can live with forever. It works like this: "come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty" (2 Corinthians 6:17,18). Yes, repenting involves setting out on a different and narrow path, a new life. We must abide in Him (John 15:1-7) and spiritually grow as He leads us. It works like this: "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent" (Jesus, in Revelation 3:19). We are called to repent and overcome and grow, and become the "new man" the apostle Paul wrote about. "He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son" (Jesus, in Revelation 21:7). We are called to become changed men and women, who grow spiritually and do good works automatically, out of love for God and neighbor. *_Creation is still in process: He is the potter, we are the clay._* We can't be shaped if we're unwilling to repent and overcome. This is "the narrow way... that leads to life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:14). It is not easy. The apostle Paul advised believers to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12). The apostle Peter advised us to "give diligence to make your calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10). Just "believe" and you're "saved"??? If anyone reading this has been told that you just say "the sinner's prayer" to be saved - and that once you are "saved" you can not ever lose your salvation - you have been told LIES. Please realize this: many of today's "grace only, only believe" teachers dismiss repenting as "works" and therefore unnecessary for salvation. That is in *_direct contradiction_* to Jesus' statement "Except you repent, you shall all likewise perish." Do not be deceived by them! I am not saying repenting of sin EARNS salvation. There is nothing we can do to EARN salvation. But that does not mean there is nothing we must DO: you will NOT inherit the kingdom of God if you do not repent of sin and put sin out of your life. As I said earlier, Jesus did not die to make it okay for us to continue in sin. He died to make available a payment of the death penalty we have each earned for our past sins. That payment is available to us if we'll repent - turn from sin - *turn from sin that brought the death penalty on us to begin with.* whatgodwants.info

    The Bible Says Not a fan of walls of text so I admittedly didn't read most of it. At first glance I can say that Phillipians verse was incomplete. That statement goes on to verse 13: "for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." It's not our works that save. It's God's work. Man's work is not a requirement for salvation. It's a result of salvation. Christ's work gave it to us. God's continual work allows it to manifest in us. Works based salvation implies that our work is more powerful than God's grace, which is not true. God is sovereign. And it's only by his power that we can be saved.

    The Bible Says what I think he is Missing is the deference between the word "confess" to say something, and "repent" to turn from. We have to do both,we must " confess" say we have sinned, and "repent" turn from our sins and go a different direction, or do things differently, we have to do both. Thechurchinpunchbowl is Missing this difference.

    Jesus died once for the sins of all, to anyone who believed Him, ONCE. That you despise the grace of God is a testimony to the absolute fact that you cant be saved and think you can lose salvation, because its a gift that you didnt work to get, and you dont work to keep it.

If God *_made_* us repent, judgment would be a farce. Outside of repentance we receive no mercy, and will perish, without redemption: ■ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) ■ "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him . . . " (Isaiah 55:7) ■ "Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?" (Ezekiel 18:23) Jesus warned, ■ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Jesus, in Luke 13:5) Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish: ■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) Have you not read that we are judged by our works? ■ "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." (Revelation 20:12,13) ■ "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2:26) We must do the "works" of Abraham. What did Abraham do? He obeyed God.. Believing goes beyond "faith only." Believers act on their faith and obey, as James illustrated in James 2:20-24. Otherwise, our faith is dead. Today Jesus is ■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9)
