@@devinedgin673 2% isn't much. Blood pact gives 7% and 4.6 killers can easily catch up. Survivors run at 4.0. 7% from blood pact makes them run almost as fast as the 4.4 killers. 2% will only make them run at 4.08 on top of killer being able to see boon. Haste also doesn't stack.

I never would have noticed that! He just vanishes into thin air and suddenly appears right next to him ready for the save! You have some incredibly good eyes to see that.

If only dbd recorded matches automatically and let u see everyone's PoV like Overwatch does, we, as the game's community, could help devs deal with the cheaters situation a lot more efficiently.

@@puppet9998 I'm a software dev and this excuse is just BS. Literally all you need is to write a TINY BIT of code that logs actions on the server and associate that log with a game ID. Then the replay just needs to emulate the game using the log. BHVR are either incompetant or lying.

Like in mk11 for example, you can rewatch your played matches with all of you and your opponents button inputs you can even replay the recording frame by frame right there. Idk I guess this could be hard for dbd 'cause of all it's variables but it still would be nice to be able to rewatch your games even just to help yourself improve at the game nevermind catching cheaters.

Especially with the flashlight saves, if the Dwight used any speed boost or teleport hack to get their in time the downed survivor would see that from his aura. So the others might not be hacking but they likely know that their friend was.

The amount of subtle cheaters in the game is probably way higher than most people think. Just recently I had a survivor I was a little suspicious of, then suddenly I noticed I wasn't really catching up to them with Agitation, and later when he vaulted Father Campbell's main building he had little to no stagger and never fell for a single mindgame, seemingly always knowing where I was. In the end he died because despite having what felt like a slight speed boost he wasn't very smart, so all I had to do was bait him to re-vault pallets and lunge around the corner. Pretty strange when a guy you can seemingly never catch suddenly goes down so easy.

@Dart Runner That's assuming that they know what the cap is. It's also assuming that they wouldn't do a base cap of 4.0 m/s and change it based on the perks that effect the player. They can also do a check on the perks that don't transfer. For example, no one other than you is going to use your hope. So, if the person doesn't have hope and they have the end game speed boost, it goes past the cap. There's also the possibility of checking what a person can and cannot do with the perks and items they have. If someone is self-caring themselves without self-care or a medkit, then its obvious that they're cheating. What I'm getting at here is that Dead by daylight doesn't need to have Valorant anti-cheat, they just need to be smart with how to catch cheaters.

This is one of those things you might not care about until you deal with it. The day before I watched Otz go through this, I had to deal with a survivor that kept looping me around Shack without me getting them in chase because of how fast they vaulted. I seriously thought they were just absolutely destroying me until I killed them and they started doing that weird hacker hook-unhook thing. Then their friends called me bad in the end lobby. Lol.

Usually I get xbox hackers who have a 20% speed boost everytime I get close. and speed up just enough to where I cant catch them. you can usually catch this by spinning around behind you and trying to hit them who are chasing you. They instantly speed away.

You're way too nice Otz. He wasn't 'probably cheating' he WAS cheating. He uses dead hard twice in the span of 8 seconds. When he has birds, you can see that he has wall hacks because he perfectly moves with you even though he shouldn't be able to see you or know where you are. When you downed Nea, you can see him warp into oblivion in the background by the gallows and instantly teleport to you. Plus the lack of stagger when falling... yup, he's a cheater. Report him and get him banned. The double dead hard should be a good enough VOD for it.

Saying "hope you had a good game" after macro spamming flashlight is like saying "it was a good match" after kicking your friends leg on purpose on a football match

Recently I realised that I was facing a cheater because they had a 1 second enter into a locker and I knew I could grab but they used head on. Way too quick of an activation and it made me question the entire match.

Literally had one in PTB earlier today. Thought my game bugged out because the guy ended up floating across the map. Became extremely obvious when the same guy got a flashlight save on me despite him having been nowhere within range to get the blind and the blind itself happened instantaneously. Never faced one before, and with it being PTB I was happy just quitting.

Saw all of this on stream, was really interesting watching the investigation, and then all the jokes about the 'favorite map' lol. Really glad you uploaded this on YT, I think it's important for people to know that sometimes it's not them playing like sh*t, but just these mf subtle cheaters. Cheaters are honestly really frustrating as in my opinion, sometimes make me want to quit whatsoever.

Here's another thing I think should be considered. The life of the flashlight. And the times it blinds. Because if it has max blind time it means you can confirm the add-ons along with it's battery life. I understand you can technically find more on the map but it's still enough to add suspicion. I'm not a huge dbd player only about 400 hours even split on killer and survivor so I don't have it memorized.

Personally I don't think there's a justifiable reason to to do what they do unless it's exclusively to find exploits in the games code to report it to the devs so they can make fixes. White hat stuff.

This is why DBD really needs a "Replay" function where you can spectate everybody in the previous game

25:16 I can definitely see that his stride suddenly was a little quicker. He most certainly sped himself up here.

The cheating is obvious just looking at the vod. He clearly moves faster than Otz at various points allowing him to chain impossible tiles that are super far and gain tons of distance. He also has instant vault animation even faster than vault build without having any of those perks. Then, there’s the obvious giveaway of using permanent balanced landing without actually having it equipped. At several points it also looks like he has auto dead hard hack, dodging at the exact millisecond the M1 happens despite killer being right on his ass, but failing to use it at all to dodge the birds in any way, probably because the hack only works for M1. He probably also had wallhacks which is how he always knew how to dodge the shots behind walls and how he was able to immediately insta vault for the flash light save, despite having awful flashy timings and missing every single one. Then towards the end he probably just got tired of sucking so he used insta blind hack to get the flashy save without even being there at all. Also insta rescue from hook at one point when the feng got rescued. Maybe feng was also hacking but Dwight was for sure

I agree with almost everything you said, but he doesn't have permanent balanced landing, in the three or four times he drops there is only one where he doesn't make the normal falling and grunting sound

@@FA1ALERR0R The cheat is having no stagger, not being silent. Notice at 14:52 he falls al the way down to the table and is able to move immediately? You can't do that without balanced landing. A cheat would only remove the stagger, it wouldn't bother to alter the sound.

Yeah, looking at things, I'm pretty sure the reason Otz got the downs on Dwight is because auto dead hard doesn't account for the crow being able to down you. Each down with the crow, there was definitely enough warning where Dwight could've at least attempted to use dead hard to dodge but didn't. Another reason I say this is the last cheater I ran into had auto dead hard and instant exhaustion recover, yet the crows for me was the only way I was able to down him. Though of course, he'd just pick himself back up instantly.

he was using super speed to get into position for the blinds. otz would check behind him then pick up and suddenly he would be there with no footstep sounds. if someone super speed cheats you will hear maybe 1 footstep or 2 when normally a regular person you would hear 5 or more steps in the time it takes to get from around a corner or whatever into position.

i think the problem isnt even for newer killers because cheaters win so many games consecutively that their MMR goes up so fast/drastically that they are facing redranks within tens of hours of buying the game on a fresh alt. i think its more of a problem for people like otz who lose streaks or challenges and possibly without ever knowing they weren't at fault, and simply being humble and thinking you got outplayed.

I've seen this guy multiple times in game, as his name always sticks out as funny to me. 3 times as a survivor, didn't notice anything. 1 time as a killer and he kept looping me around the small boat on the swamp. As soon as he ducked out of sight in the loop, he suddenly seemed to be so far ahead of me by the time I came around the corner. Eventually I saw it for myself, he timed it wrong and more than once I saw him glide as he zoomed a few extra feet away from me.

his name is familiar, but I forget if I have played against him before too. Just such a simple name. I wouldn't have noticed anything though, I now have just a little under 99 hours and wouldn't be able to catch anything like that since I don't know all the perks and might have just thought it was something like that. The gliding would have given it away though.

When Dwight saved the Feng from hook early in the game it was an instant unhook hack. Her scream had ended a split second before she was off the hook and he was back to clicking at you.

I played against this guy yesterday and had the exact same experience. Clicky clickys, multiple flashy saves across the map, dead hard isntantly whenever I would attack no matter how long I waited. I was playing oni and chasing him, used my power and downed another person who was on a gen across the entire map (eerie of crows), pick up instantly and suddenly he was there, literally impossible. Same Dwight with same name. 100% cheater.

Had a match where one of my teammates was running Leader, and it's one of my favorite perks so I was happy to see it. When I checked their end game perks, they didn't have it, and neither did anyone else on my team. They were also running buff perks like streetwise, prove thyself, up the ante, vigil, which were nowhere to be found on any survivor in their perk slots. They weren't outwardly sus, and we won that match easily. The killer had absolutely 0 way of knowing he had these extra perks. It's so unbelievably subtle unless you're really paying attention.

8:47 after your animation from hitting him ended he still outpaced you around the water tower and got more distance from corner to corner and then reached the window before you turned the second corner.

@@KwispyToast I don’t think the boost lasts long enough for you heal and still get it after. I play survivor a lot and I’m pretty sure doing any interaction interrupts a huge chunk of the speed boost. That’s why getting hit and dropping the pallet hurts so much

At 12:31/12:32 after you down the Nea you can see him at the far corner of the saloon. If you go frame by frame you can see him suddenly disappear (guessing he teleported). Which proves 1, he was hacking and 2, his teammates knew he was hacking and the Nea would’ve seen his aura suddenly appear (and I guess he would’ve done similar at different times) Edit: watch at 0.25x to see it easily

It's kinda hard to tell because the resolution isn't super clear. (At least on my screen) But it looks like the person running out is injured, which would mean that it's meg not dwight. I also think they either crouch behind that loop or possibly even drop down into basement stairs, because if you go frame by frame it looks like theres a downward movement to the right. And it's smeared so it doesn't seem to be a clear teleport or rubberband. But good eye. I definitely think he's cheating, but I'm not sure that 12:31 is him.

If you ever run into anymore subtle cheaters I think you should do a sort of analysis video like you did here, this was really enjoyable to watch.

I once played a match as trapper against a Dwight who found and disarmed my traps constantly, even though they were hidden and there was just no way he found all of them so quickly. I felt like he was cheating, but first I blamed myself for it and thought "well, today my traps kinda suck then". Only when I catched him teleporting to get a flashlight save later on I realized I'm not completely bad at the game. It really sucks when you doubt yourself like that even though you did nothing wrong and just want to have fun with the game.

about 5 minutes in i was already going, "Its baby, right?" Cuz he always seemed to get the fast vaults and the movement speed and maybe even the vaulting speed seemed a bit too fast to me, and even when you were chasing him around a building or in a straight line it seemed like you just weren't gaining any distance, which is made even weirder by the fact he was zig-zagging all the time, so he should be losing a large amount of distance.

I thought the same, but I was mostly amazed by how he was always there for the flashes, even though Otz is a pretty aware guy this Dwight would just come out of nowhere with the blind and the angle. I know people that go for saves are always prepared but some angles/tiles tend to give you a hard time to position yourself but dwight always seemed to be just a W away from the perfect spot. Then, the blind with the vault from the balcony was super bs as he didn't even stagger. Hell it was even weird how he got there that fast after the pathing you see he's taking.

Over time I've come to realize there's probably been a decent chunk of cheaters I faced, chases that just never ended even when I was nailing them with bottles as a clown they always seem to have enough speed to get away. Tinkerer popping on blight and yet not being able to make it to the generator before it completes even though only one person was repairing it. I wonder if a lot of the people claiming survivors are way too powerful, borderline unbeatable, just get unlucky and face a lot of subtle hackers.

When I play survivor and I have a toolbox, I always wait until the last quarter of the gen to start using it (also, I'm always running a lot of gen repair perks along with it). It wasn't consciously to counter Tinkerer, but after reading this comment, I realize that it would probably work just fine for that purpose. Think maybe someone figured out you were running it and tried something similar?

This stream was honestly so much fun to watch. I got so invested in the whole cheater or not investigation

I think it’s the falling stagger reduction that really gives it away. Otherwise it’s hard to point to any specific thing and say for sure, but the part where he falls down onto the table… definitely something not right there

I had a hacker like this recently. I recorded the match and sent over to Behaviour. I checked back around a week later and he was banned. They just increased their speed slightly so a normal killer couldn't catch them. I ended up killing them with my Nemesis whip.

That was the longest lasting flash light I've ever seen as well as a big beam to me. Every time he clicked it was perfectly on your face and staring to blind you.

Sometimes when I play against someone who just seems a little too fast or seems to predict my every move it makes me paranoid, cuz I know there’s absolutely no way for me to know if they are cheating or not. i spent ages sweating for a 4k as doctor for an archive against the final survivor, a Jane i was fairly convinced was just really, really good. But when I finally did down them and went back to kick a wall down to guarantee the hook, they instantly got themselves up and bolted for the hatch like greased lightning. i felt gross knowing i had given up so much time and effort trying to catch a dirty cheater, and the fact they'd rather reveal themselves as a dirty cheat than enjoy the respect they may have garnered for being seemingly good at the game shows what kind of people they are.

On the 1st clip we have seen the recently buffed tenacity, it now allows flight whilst down and you can phase thru stuff

I was watching all of this unfold on stream at the time. Still cant believe how many people still get away with this stuff. and the opening part of the video happened to him 2 games later. Obvious cheaters and subtle cheaters need to be dealt with. hopefully BHVR starts cracking down more and more on the cheaters.

I played against these guys before, they are all cheating 100%. Subtle, but when you have been playing since 2016... easy tell. The one time where you were just about to get in hit range, but for some reason he actually gained a little distance on you... THAT right there is enough for me. That is not just some tight wall hug or glitchy thing. You could also easily tell when he had birds on him that he was wallhacking. He was perfectly following you back and forth behind the building. Defo also a balanced landing thing, not completely, but just enough to get that edge. And a ton more red flags.

I know the feng min, played with him few times, vc'ed with him as well. And I know for a fact that he is not cheating (or at least I never saw him cheating) also that'd be a bit stupid to cheat with his main account with like 3k+ hours, but for the others I don't know, never played with them. The dwight is cheating of course, that's just too much sus things for it to not be hacks. Meg did look a bit sus as well, but I feel like she just knows the dwight and knows he's hacking more than hacking herself if you get what I mean there.

Exactly, i killed him later cause he really wasnt good. But he jumped over a pallet and suddenly was insanely fast like he used lithe but used dead hard a second ago. I really got lucky that i got him always at corners, was also the first guy i am 100% sure he cheated. Was a week or so ago...

cheaters really make you feel crazy, I called my friend on discord and streamed to confirm while chasing the guy the whole game he was able to make vaults that felt off and even in the open it was hard to tell, until I chased one other person. I think they toggle it on and off too

I was playing against a Claudette that was not very good in chase (running loops very widely and inefficiently, lot of medium vaults instead of fast vaults, etc) and every chase was the same - the first hit would come very easily, and the second was nearly impossible and it kept feeling like they were getting faster every time they were about to go down, and somehow gaining distance on me. I thought I was going crazy. If a survivor is running a loop as tightly as possible, has great pathing, etc it can be a nightmare to get a hit but I know a good survivor when I see one, and this Claud was not one. These cheaters are something else, man.

@@jasono312 Even if you run a loop tightly you're not gonna gain much if any distance on a killer. Unless you're running wide, wallhugging might get you an effective 2% speed boost. (Just how much extra distance you have to cover as killer) They're cheating.

Damn, I would never have had any idea... But seeing the footage again yes, nonexistent falling noises and reduced stagger is the part that strikes me most :D I could definitely have encountered people that would cheat in such subtle ways, with the fact I sometimes feel I get slowed down because of lagging I would never know. Thanks a lot for the way you presented this too, not pointing fingers but just trying to analyse facts and let everyone make their own opinion. Really great :)

The moment that destroyed all remaining doubt for me was the dead hard. Even as a 100 hours player I could tell that DH was automated.

you can actually hear him teleport to you, how it works is it makes the survivor make the "hrraamph" sound, as if he fell. The teleport sets them to your height since he is teleporting to the killer. which is taller than the survivor.

I remember Coconut had a video like this a while back where he thought he got beat by a cheater, but all the stars aligned and he was actually just paranoid. I don’t think this is the same as that but both of these situations just prove how bad the cheating situation is in the game. When bad players can run subtle hacks or even good players and everyone is paranoid when they’re losing and don’t know if it’s because someone is cheating or if it’s because they’re getting beat fair and square.

Crazy? I was crazy once..

When he beats you to the pallet at the back corner of the map on death hook, it was clear in my mind he was cheating.

thats generally the case. Cheats cant be dynamic, so player decision making can only be done by the player, which means its full of potential faults. Besides, why cheat if you're good at the game, which means more success, which means more positive reinforcement, which generally means more fun?

I was looped for ages and didn’t think he was cheating till he ran to a dead zone, didn’t loop yet for some reason for no matter how long I chased him, he was some how ahead despite not using windows, pallets or anything. He wasn’t going super fast and at first glance was normal speed but some how was always ahead despite seemingly not really trying. In true cheater fashion he never did gens but if I stopped chasing him, he chased me with a flashlight.

"hes really good with flashlight" Remember when you went to pick up that girl near the gate at the start? you chased dwight away, he managed to loop right back round, get in front of you and prepare a flash in the same time it took for you to travel a shorter distance and pick her up. keep in mind, killers are faster by default. His flashlight saves were really sus, especially considering that he wasnt even in the call with the others. 5:20 onwards is in my opinion the most suspicious part

Esp given that he wasn’t even running breakout like otz had thought for a second and even if he had, it’s still hard to catch up with the killer consistently with breakout

Plus the fact that he made no noise doing it. None at all, including footsteps or dropping from height.

Probably encountered these many times but there is one encounter of a subtle cheater which was boarderline subtle because of how stupid the cheater was. I was playing nurse and basically had gotten 3 downs around shack, keep in mind I was running tinkers, by the time I picked up the third person a gen popped, I didn’t get a tinker prop but I thought I may have missed it during chase, by the time I brought the third person to basement and hooked them another gen popped, that’s like a 10 second interval between 2 gens, it’s impossible that one person did them solo in that timespan, and tinker proves it, it’s crazy cuz you never actually know for sure apart from those situations.

Are you sure one of them hadn't 99%ed two of the gens? That would have explained you missing the tinkerer notification as well as the fact that they both were finished in rapid succession.

It was the start of the game, I found those three survivors working on a gen in shack, meaning that the cheater started alone, it also still doesn’t explain tinkers not popping up. (On top of that there was also a moment that when I hooked the 3rd person I blinked out of basement hella confused on how she popped 2 gens like that and then they all got unhooked like 15 seconds later despite the gens being popped on the other side of the map, i was still around shack when that happened so idk how I could have missed her, meaning she probably no-clipped in to keep the game going.)

He is definitely cheating. Seems too fast, otz never gains any distance on him when he's dead on hook.

100% cheating and also 100% the friends do not know. This person wants to come off as impressive to their friends and cheat to do so. I have seen it too many times with certain friends of my own that I refuse to play games with them now.

Behaviour should add a post game watch. Where you can watch your matches from all perspectives so subtle cheaters can’t hide it as well and it’s all caught on camera

I hope cheaters and bullies get to better places in life where they don't feel the need to hurt other people to get their fun. Thanks for the video Otz

You can play more than 2 killer games and not get anger management issues or crippling depression, you're either a man with incredibly strong mental health or a madman, no inbetween

I recently re-installed dbd after a year but watching these hackers just reminds me why I uninstalled it in the first place. So frustrating! Props to otz for being so calm

I swear otz, that guy used DH twice in a row. Once when he ran behind the shack at 8:52 and then when he tridded to fake you out at 9:00

Idk about the slow down but is he place it on half speed, at that moment he looks like he is doing the DH animation were you dash in mid air.

Everytime someone brings up one side and issues or complaints that seem fair on occasion, the other side inevitably is brought up and demonized. This comment specifically was talking about survivors. No one made the remark the killers Don't hack. I'm 0retty sure every player is aware that killers hack as well.

the part where dwight seemingly speeds up to get to the pallet that he shouldnt have made it to was the selling point for me

As someone with lots of experience some of the points you made afterwards I even missed, but during that final chase I could tell immediately that his speed was definitely higher than normal, and as you pointed out his gameplay was suddenly flawless. I once went against a cheater and I was a little suspect but I was mostly confused. It was only until rewatching the game when I noticed 1 of the players healed very quickly by themselves and without a flashlight that I could pinpoint which player was cheating (I also confirmed a Gen went from less than 10s of progress to complete in under 20s so that was evidence someone was cheating but it didn't confirm who). Subtle cheaters really suck because even for highly experienced players who can tell these types of things they can still go undetected, and realistically we can't completely prove it. On top of that most ppl don't have thousands of hours. Glad you were able to detect this guy Otz, loved the vid

Imagine spending a month subtly cheating just to go against Otz and get insta called out lol those are the same people that flex to their friends

You cant flex "being good" while hiding hacks when with friends lmao, most of the time they can see your aura teleporting around the map

Survivor main here getting into killer, watching how this dude plays killer and hearing him break everything down from killer pov just amazes me.

Watching this after 2 years, the flashlight saves feel just like background player now

"my friends profile is private for me too" Ah yes, I also like to prevent my friends from seeing my profile, if I didnt then they might find something suspicious, so hiding my profile is not sus at all 🤔
