Matias makes you to fight no matter your style, even Hitchins was saying these today in an interview, his pressure is so high and suffocating that he wears down fighters. You are going to need special super power to keep him out of you, because he has a great chin.

Matias is the last guy Haney should be facing if anyone is trying to protect his career. Matias style negates what Haney wants to do. Matias is a high volume puncher who's very dangerous in later rounds. Suffocating pressure at 88-100 punches per round at 39%. In terms of size, Matias has one of the longest reaches at 140. Matias has no problem making weight and is never drained which is why he can keep a high work rate in fights. Matias spars 36 rounds in training. Haney is not going 12 rounds without getting exhausted. Realistically by round 6, Haney will slow down. Yes Haney can outbox Matias for a few rounds, but it will require alot of energy expended. Matias throws 88-100 punches per round. He peppers shots at unconventional timing that's hard to counter and time. Matias goes to the body more than anyone at 140. Haney won't have his legs by round 5/6 and he will have to clinch/hug or fight back. Matias has constant pressure and Haney will have to use alot of energy to keep Matias off him. It's fantasy to imagine Haney fighting Matias like he did Prograis. Matias isn't short like Prograis and Matias cuts off the ring and has a jab unless Prograis. Plus Prograis is a one punch fighter, not volume. Matias is the total opposite. This is Haneys worst match up and no one is saying Matias is the best, he just has tools to negate what Haney wants to do. Haney has 0 KO since 2019. 5 years. Haney has 1 KO in his own country. The rest of his 14 KOs were in Mexico against cherry picks and tomato cans. Haney first 19 opponents were 114-149. No one fought more cherrypicks than Haney. Devin Haney went 90 rounds without scoring a knockdown, and 102 rounds and 5 years since his last knockout.
