yeah, he is actually pretty decent, especially on HHM. Sad that it is so hard to get to the chapter.

You can get the sage to sit on the village because it gives avoid. Then pin him there, forcing him to use elfire and drop the bolting

If i recall, the axe enemies on this map are Corsairs, not Pirates. I think I remember something about the two classes having slightly different movement properties, too, but not in enough detail to explain it.

...huh, never knew about the Corsair thing. Looking it up, there doesn't seem to be any actual gameplay difference between Corsairs and Pirates, but the description for Corsairs mentions they're adept at fighting on lakes, as opposed to the ocean

I like the dart and farina pairing - it’s fun

This is my favorite series on the channel so far. I’m enjoying the interactions and gameplay/objectives a lot 🤩 mekkah not playing is also pretty rare

The in-map only shops from FE6 make for some interesting situations but the tedium of having merlinus and 3 mounted units spend 20 turns selling all the accumulated stuff in your inventory is definitely something that could've been mitigated (being able to sell straight from the convoy would've been nice, specially if Roy had convoy access).

*Chronicles of the switch playalong* This is it. This is THE chapter. The chapter that I've been hyping up multiple times, and it's the one that almost made me give up! On turn 19 at 40:46 I encountered something... unusual. Up until this point I had done absolutely everything right, Heath crits the wyvern, Dart dodged, Geitz got hit, Heath got hit... wait, what? Instead of dodging, Heath got hit right there! I replayed the bits from the last levelup over and over, same result where Heath got hit instead of dodging! I tried to keep playing, but because he had gotten hit the rng was messed up and I got different levelups! What was going on!? To remind you what I said in chapter 22, it takes in real time about twice as long to get through each chapter as the video itself, so having that happen after over an hour was... frustrating to say the least. I quit for the day and tried again the next day, starting the chapter over from scratch, replicating everything perfectly... and STILL get that result! This wasn't due to the tactician star, Heath's not ice! I backed up a bit further than turn 19, and I spotted it on turn 18 enemy phase. The wyverns attacking Dart were taking a different flight path! This had messed up the rng JUST enough that it threw everything out of control, and there was nothing I could do about that! I don't know if it's because of the switch port or if it's because I played on the european eng/fre/ger version. What was I to do here? I began experimenting a bit with rn burns and different positions... and in one of those all of a sudden Raven got the correct levelup! I rewinded to try and find what I had done and through some more trial and error, I found the solution: When Heath's going to crit the wyvern on turn 19, instead of attacking from the north, I attacked from the west. This was going to force the wyvern near him to take a slightly different path, but that wasn't quite enough on its own. Before ending the turn, I had Oswin burn (I thiiiiiink it was) 3 rns, and so the correct hit and misses played out for 19 EP. Turn 20, in order to get Raven's correct levelup, I had to do things slightly out of order. Wil's movement, Serra's heal, and Raven's boss attack had to be performed first BEFORE Heath could attack the wyverns down south. However this was as expected just a bandaid solution, and due to the changed enemy positions at this point, Dart had to move 3 tiles to the left to avoid being hit by the one that's supposed to attack Heath next enemy phase. Thankfully, Dart was able to dodge the incoming attacks and it plays out similarly enough to altissimo's run. Final turn, Dart and Heath have no trouble doing their tasks, but before Lowen, Guy and Oswin perform their attacks on Linus, I burned one more RN to get the right hit/miss order. However at this point, I gave up trying to get it the same with Wil's last levelup, and I just kept burning RNs until he get a kill and a levelup that I figured was good enough. I forgot how many I did for the one I settled on, which was HP, skill, luck, def. I wasn't sure how it was going to affect future chapters with 1 less res, 3 more hit and 1 more dodge, but I had to go for it. Now, remember what I said at the end of the chronicles in chapter 20? The consequences of doing this chapter's last few turns differently is going to make itself clear in a future chapter... but I won't say which until we've reached it.

No matter what FE game I play, I am always terrified of running out of weapons unless I have 5 iron weapons on the convoy. So I'm always thankful for prep shops.

I'm not sure if you're doing 23x as well, so I'll wait for that one before watching this.

Didn't expect this much turtling in any kind of ranked run to be honest.

Normally I wouldn't be able to, but intended ranks is pretty lenient on turns, and this particular map is VERY lenient.

I was under the impression that selling the Ocean Seal only gets you half its value for funds rank...but perhaps that's still enough and it's nice to have money to buy things.

It does, yes. I just don't have any better means of getting funds for Farina right now.

"You get one promoted unit. You get Geitz...if you bring Dart that is...which unfortunately you did..." That was great. Dart's worse than Forde. Even Geitz can't make up for him.

Lyn would have gotten obliterated by those wyverns, Dart didn't. Dart is literally a better dodge tank than Lyn confirmed. (Anything to tease the Lyn enjoyers)
