Top tip: Always carry a beacon on you in case you die. The beacon will automatically drop, thus enabling you to find anything you lost at the location you died.

For those starting out, here are some few tips: 1. In one of the bases you go to there is a plant that increases your temp when you eat it (fevered pepper, i think), get it then plant in near your base. It has a very high food and water replenishment, as well. 2. Find and make the mineral detector, it can detect fragments your missing 3. Don’t be afraid to dive deep in the twisty corals, oxygen plants are your friends Good luck and have fun.

Quick tip i just found when you first jump in the water check the ice shelf you just jumped off of and there's a little cut out with five silver and five gold stuck in a little Groove. They even have little sparkly things on them to see them

I save every 5m, obsessive but necessary. Game has glitched on me 4x already and I started playing 3 days ago. The worst was the never ending save bug. Lost 2 hours of progress.

I'm starting again. I've been playing for 2 hours and spent an hour half as a rotting corpse on the sea bed. Thanks to you, I can earn some cred from my 12 year old sons who dominate this game but I flounder around like a dying seal.

thanks for this guide i’m pretty decent and knew how to do everything in the first game and going into this game i was like “oh shouldn’t be hard should be like the last game” nope a lot more stuff to learn but not bad stuff and the map can be a bit confusing but i’m having fun

A personal preference of mine when it comes to color coding in your icon section of the PDA goes a little like this: Green: Buildings/Bases you have created Yellow/Orange: Missions/Objectives that you haven’t gotten to yet but plan on in the future. Red: Objectives/Locations you have visited and completed or searched through and no longer have value to you in which afterwords you turn off the blip in your PDA. (I only turn them back on as GPS points for me travel to a certain place I need to go if I forgot.) Blue: Any vehicles you have crafted. This is my preference for how I color code, but it helps so much to categorize and keep everything from being so clustered. That way you know what you are looking for quickly without having to look at every single blip in your PDA. Thanks for reading this far. 👍🏻

#1 Subnautica Tip (works for both OG and Below Zero) ALWAYS carry an extra 02 tank and swap when you reach 45 02. It may take up extra space, but it’s worth it to stay alive longer and prevent losing your stuff.

did anyone else think the twisty bridges were sea emperor tentacles when you started playing, or was that just me?

I know this is an older video and game, but if anyone is playing through first time, always take a few bottles of water with you when you head out. For some reason it feels you dehydrate in this game quicker than the base game. It will sneak up on you quick if you aren't careful

Some quick tips for new people starting this game! Tip 1. You do swim faster without holding something so make sure you don’t hold something while swimming but the sea glide it does make you faster. Tip 2. When you first jump on the water you can follow the island then you will see a little cave there will be some silver and gold are there Tip 3. There is a little cave near the island you spawn on and inside the little cave there will be some copper ore in the crevice! Tip 4. Don’t be afraid to go deep cause some areas or most areas have oxygen plants which will replenish your oxygen so you don’t run out of oxygen, oxygen plants are your friend! Good luck and have fun!

If you build a moon pool and a large seatruck with extra cabins. You can't dock with your base and your prawn suit.....you need 2 moonpools build your second moon pool over foundation so you can dock it with your seatruck

When I started I went exploring with really having anything and found a little above water base and j don’t remember finding a knife but when I came back home I found I had a knife in my inventory

Tips for everyone. Have a small base in each biome with power, a fabricator at least 2 lockers an indoor food, an out door food . Your main base make sure it's centrally located deep enough for thermal and solar or Bio up to you I went thermal ran pipes and a reactor.

Biggest tip I think to new subnautica players is MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR PEOGRESS,below zero was my first subnautica game and I got hooked instantly and played for 11 hours straight and got offline and went to get back on the next day and there's nothing at all so I gave up on the whole game ......then I found out the game doesn't autosave,my base was so huge ,I was about to make the spy penguin

I really would have loved a dry land guide here too

I am total beginner…not knowing what to press on controller,so for now is difficult cause noone explains what is what😅but thank you for your video ,it’s gonna be helpful 👍🏼

Good stuff! To expand on that a bit... Eat whenever you like: When you eat food, the food gauge will go over 100, it's ok to eat early. The water gauge, however, only goes up to 100. So you can't waste food by eating early, but you can waste water by drinking early. After grabbing the copper in the cave when you jump into the water for the first time, face the way you came from, follow the wall to the left, and you'll find a cave in that wall with some silver and gold ore. These 2 caves give you quick startup materials. The arctic kelp caves also have propulsion cannon fragments in them.

That pin exist in 1st version too, unpin all may be new i am not sure of it about unpin all existing in 1st version... Plus using scanner to know what we may get is no use... Because it says chances of getting so & so material... Since there are only 2 material you going to get from it... No need to use scanner... Just break it...

Hello so I was playing the game then I was going to fast in the red Crystal caves and I was playing a Xbox disc before what the dock update so no unstuck button… In my prawn and got in beforehand the fabrication facility loaded now my prawn is stuck under and me in it and can’t move at all nothing worked grappling just nothing I can get in and out of the prawn but now can’t get out and i somehow accidentally saved my game when I just got stuck now I’m sad I’ve been playing it it for days and was having fun. 😭 help. Is there any way to update my game even though it doesn’t need too? Or do I need to wait for the next update? :(

I just completed subnautica core game last week for the first time and then decided see what kind of achievements would pop up if I bought the steam version. My biggest gripe is a few of the UI interface is different when selecting hotkeys for the devices. Plus I died 3 times yesterday because the steam background interface popped up. I have a tendency to hold the shift down with my directional Key by default and when you hit tab at the same time ques up the steam consoles. I've got to be able to figure out how to change that otherwise I'm really not going to like this version because of the controls. It's bad enough when you drop your tools but even more aggravating when the fish steals it from your hands.

The Sea Monkeys leave your tools in nests, which are often in shallow areas, along with materials and fragments.

I told you what to do and instead of 30 minutes of me searching for gravtrap fragments i cut it. I assumed people would understand that i grinded that out because as i said in the video those were the things i look for first. Sorry i didnt make that clear enough
