I also am remembering a time when I was 14, though along with the bud was excessive DXM use at that time in my life..Such a weird (and euphoric and nostalgic) flashback of feelings. The exact neurons firing off in my brain at the time, my mind mentally masturbating to the creative funk known as sublime, at the time an unknown band to me. I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't do that I'm not a fool to hurt myself, but I was innocent to what they done to me They were wrong, they were wrong Give it to me, one time Give it to me, two times Give it to me, three times Give it to me, four times Oh 5446 what's my number? What's my number now? Right now somebody else has that number One more time 5447, what's my number? What's my number now? I don't have, no time To listen to conflicting points of view Oh it's a crazy world to live alone A ball and chain I call my own People listen up don't stand to close I've got something that you all should know Holy matrimony is not for me Rather die alone in misery I was always taught that boy meets girl Fall in love, get married and forget the world Nine months later, the sweet baby's on the way Isn't that what they used to say? With a girl that you knew, And the bonds that we grew Turned into a ball and chain I step into the great unknown On a ball and chain I call my own Crazy world to live alone With a girl And the bonds that we grew Turned into a ball and chain Oh, I step into the great unknown With a ball and chain I call my own Because marriage doesn't work in the world today It's an institution that is in decay And if I have love I wish to portray I will surely find another way Because I was always taught that boy meets girl Fall in love, get married and forget the world Nine months later the sweet baby's on the way Kiss 'em on the cheek and life's okay I don't feel no pain, I don't have no time To listen to conflicting points of view I step into the great unknown On a ball and chain I call my own

Paul White I read he never sounded good playing live but is this true?
@Streetwalker216

No not at all. I mean he was high a lot of the time so that could've affected his playing a little bit, but he was really something else when the focus was there.

As a bassist, I want to just agree, I do. :D However, their unique sound really comes from how all of them really mesh well together. I've listened to them since Bradley, and.. well you know. :D Remove any of the elements and you lose that unique sound.
Brad has such an incredible voice

This is why I love Sublime! The more I dig into the original versions of these songs the more I realize what a bad ass Bradley was....
Man it's been a while. When I remanence about the 90's in high school, I think about Smashing Pumpkins, Phish, STP, Poe, Mazzy Star, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage, Triple 6....you know there's so many more! Totally missed Sublime.
quite possibly the best song from the album.
Such a great cover! Always brings me back to good memories!!
Sublime is the reason for my love of bass guitar. Good riffs.
5446 is amazing. This is the way to do a cover, make it in your own style. RIP Brad🙏🙏
My love of reggae grew as I got older and I grew up listening to sublime but as I got older and listened to various reggae artists I was like “so wow that’s who sublime was referencing” listening to toots and others like barrington, toots and billy boyo
as much as i love edm and house, sublime will always be my favorite band. ive been listening to them since i was born, truly the best music in my mind. RIP Brad
Every song they did was so full...RIP so much talent incredible. So many memories of being 13 and driving to the surf
How weird it is to think back and realize that the years when Sublime was my favorite band at the time were following years when Nirvana was my favorite at the time prior. What a drastic change. I still love both very much, bit I must day, I remember my "Sublime era" as undoubtedly happier times. Not blaming either band, as I feel they reflected my inner feelings much of which was to do with my life & circumstances at the time. As well as teenage angst a bit I imagine. Lol
Anyone that hasn't heard the Toots and the Maytals original of this song, get off your ass and listen to that absolute reggae masterpiece. What are you doin' already?!? Go listen!

Do you believe I would take such a thing with me And give it to a police man? I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't do that If I did that would you say, "sir come down and put the charge on me"? I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't do that I'm not a fool to hurt myself, but I was innocent to what they done to me They were wrong, they were wrong Give it to me, one time Give it to me, two times Give it to me, three times Give it to me, four times Oh 5446 what's my number? What's my number now? Right now somebody else has that number One more time 5447, what's my number? What's my number now? Right now somebody else has that number Say, Boops, say, one go with him up, yes Say, Boops, say, want keep him, keep him on his back, sing! Say, Boops, say, me want to take off her dress, huh Say, Boops, say, I've kissed and caressed Cause we're jillin' and we're chillin' into the club all night We're jillin' and we're chillin' into the club all night, buds Hearin the dogs, feeling the beat, into the dog pound DJ, "Lord have his grilled cheese" Some jealous punk Snuck up around the back Tried to take the lovin' over me Lord I got into a fist fight And wound up in jail all night Ah give it to me one time (ohh yes, ooh my pussy) Give it to me two times Give it to me three time Give it to me four time People listen up don't stand to near I've got something that you all should hear All lies, all the lies she told to me Make a little part of history I was always taught that boy meets girl Fall in love, get married and forget the world Nine months later, the sweet baby's on the way Kiss 'em on the cheek and life's okay I don't feel, no pain. With a girl that you knew, And the bonds that we grew Turned into a ball and chain I step into the great unknown On a ball and chain I call my own Crazy world to live alone With a girl And the bonds that we grew Turned into a ball and chain Oh, I step into the great unknown With a ball and chain I call my own Because marriage doesn't work in the world today It's an institution that is in decay And if I have love I wish to portray I will surely find another way Because I was always taught that boy meets girl Fall in love, get married and forget the world Nine months later the sweet baby's on the way Kiss 'em on the cheek and life's okay I don't feel no pain, I don't have no time To listen to conflicting points of view I step into the great unknown On a ball and chain I call my own
come down and take the charge on me been there done that love ya bradley R.I.P you still carry your heart and soul through the people you have touched and changed with your music there will never be another

A great ska punk on a reggae classic!
One of my favorite songs of all time. Sure, it's a cover of two other songs but Brad really rocked them out to perfection. Check out the original 5446, it's so good as well. Toota and Maytals.
Favorite song.
Reminds me of DJing. I'm amazed my copy of this still plays.
I haven't listened to this version in almost a decade. If you don't know that this a Toots & the Maytals song I would urge you to listen to the original.

+Justice RA (justice5150) On youtube the same clip can sometimes come through processed at a higher or lower pitch than the original. I know it from uploading my own music, Sometimes a tune will feed consistently at A443 for weeks, then drop to A338. I don't have an explanation, but it is true.

+milnoid really? thats quite an interesting fact if true...Not doubting you of course haha, sounds like you're right. Can anyone else confirm this? So have you tested the note/octave being produced from your same exact upload over time and you have seen it change?
