Yes, it certainly was the oil pressure switch. The codes never came back after replacing it.

@@Nashharis8758 That is Awesome, Thanks i did the oil switch today and not the VVT and replaced new oil and feel like its driving sluggish not smooth .

What’s the part that you replaced called? I’m trying to find it on auto zones website

You should have used a slither of Teflon tape instead of gasket maker

What scan tool are you using ? Expensive ?

Autel elite it was around 2800 with a 2 year subscription.

I got 2010 subaru forester and I got one locked out my awd so if I replace both would it give me and back and tractioncontrol light off the dash

@RichardCampbell-pm4fx that would be related to your valve body inside the transmission. You can replace the solenoids, but I'd just get a new valve body or a used transmission from a junkyard.

Do you have to replace the Oil Pressure Switch AND the VVT? Or just one or the other?

You didnt show how to test solenoid

Sudrau GJ is cranking but not starting. Wants to sound like the timing belt has bust but its not. What's your sugestion or can you help solve the starting problem?

Start with checking if you're getting a spark by removing the spark plugs and testing it with the spark tool. If the spark is good, then move on to fuel, could be a bad fuel pump. If those tow check out good. It could be your crankshaft sensor.

is 1800 idle rpm normal

First start is not bad, but once the car warms up it should be 650-800.

I have this code. Could this be the reason my headlights were slowly getting dimmer the longer i drove it? Do you think i could make it to my mechanic who is 40 minutes away, or should i not risk it and have it towed? I just got the P0026 code a couple days ago and have been driving it about 15 miles for the past 2 days each day

@MTFORESTER the headlights have nothing to do with it in this case. You need new bulbs. If the vehicle doesn't stall on you, then you should be OK to drive it instead of paying the tow truck.

@Nashharis8758 ok. The check engine light just came up like a couple of days ago. Like I said, I only drove like 10-15 miles per day since then. There is no stalling at least yet. My worry is driving to the mechanic and the car suddenly stalling on the way. Have noticed that my car has felt sluggish, and my RPM has been going up and down like crazy. However, my RPM has been doing that ever since my Alternator died whilst I was driving back in March of 2024.

@MTFORESTER I'd say in that case, get a tow truck to bring it to your mechanic. The last thing you want is stalling on a highway.

Absolutely no reason to remove the air cleaner. EZPZ to access it with a long 24mm socket.
