Subaru Outback Camper Conversion

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey Y’all,
Just wanted to share with you my build, absolutely inspired by others on KZread.
I came across many videos, while not a carpenter, I figured I could get close to the desired outcome at repetitively low cost.
I tried to record as much as I could, with the exception of GoPro batteries failing me.
I hope you enjoy and get some ideas yourself for a little Subaru set up.

Just bought a ‘22 Outback, and this is by far the most easy-to-follow “makes a lot of sense” solution for camping on the internet! Great sense of humor, and well done! Bob from Spokane Valley, WA USA

The cargo cover you were going to put in storage... there's a spot for it under the back flap that accesses the spare tire. Great build with the materials you have!!!

Dude Mint! Thank You! Never even bothered to look as the only time I’ve been in there was to put on a hitch and change a tire, thanks man.

Nice straightforward semi-build, thanks, it's given me some good ideas for my small SUV.

Nice and easy! I have a 22 outback and you gave me a few ideas. I think if you glue most of the gym mat on the wood, you wont have to bother taking most of it off and on all the time. Also perhaps adding felt to the bottom of the sliders will help them slide easier and not scratch and wear the car as much as it slides in and out. Over all good innovation.

Dude, I did the same kind of stuff with my Cherokee and of course I had sleeping provisions for my dogs as well :-). Find a good woman, have kids, things change lol. Still have the Jeep but currently no time to use it. Keep it up and use it. Take your dog with on your camping trips.

Or a roof tent, side tent that connects to car. All good.

I like roof tents, but most roof tents I see: decrease gas milage, storage, add weight, and are expensive for what you get. Getting a used thule or something and simply putting a tent in it with chairs, sleeping bags, tarps, etc seems to be much more cost effective and practical. Just without the cool factor a roof tent gives.
