Subaru Forester Wilderness Camper Build by Venturhaus

I want to share about my Camper Build by Venturhaus, a company out of Evergreen, Colorado. This is NOT a paid promotion by Venturhaus but rather my opinion on this build . They do custom builds for Subaru Foresters, as well as custom van builds. Their website is www.venturhaus.com
Overall, it is a good design for the rear cargo area of the Forester, and I just keep it folded up in that area when not camping. I just bought it, so I have not had too many trips with it, but I will post further updates later this year on how this build works for us. The sleeping space can accommodate up to a 6 ft tall person, and two people can sleep comfortably in this build
The weight of this build is about 60 pounds and uses the manufacturer 's anchor points in the rear to anchor this build in place.

Thanks for showing this off! I have an Outback Wilderness and in the market for getting a setup myself, so this helps with shopping around!

@Jaypher I will be posting a follow up video on how this set up is working during traveling, and camping, as well as progressing towards a more minimalist lifestyle. I plan to show the tent that I use to attach to the rear hatch, that extends the living space as well as to show how two people,.sizes 5 ft 3 and 6 ft tall, can sleep comfortably. Let me know when you get your build completed for your Outback Wilderness!

@@VintageHikerLife nice, looking forward to that follow up! I’m still traditional with tents being on the ground as opposed to on a vehicle but I love good setups!

Hello, I just purchased a 2024 forrester. My back passenger windows do not roll down. Is this normal? Wondering if it needs repair? The service department couldn't tell me on phone call😊

@lindaabuhasou2635 You may have the child lock setting on , and that may not allow the rear passenger window to roll down.

Yes, it can be tight but I take advantage of the large moonroof on the Forester to just open the shade covering the moonroof to have a little more headroom and space....similar space to my VW Westfalia that I had before this vehicle...@ramblinvanman6250, what type of van/set up do you have?

Moved down from a high roof Promaster to a fiberglass cap on a Ram pickup. Thinking about moving down to an Outback with my mattress on the floor to give me enough headroom to eliminate claustrophobia

@ramblinmanvan6250. I have @ 8.5 inches of clearance between the rubberized cushion added on the top of the sleeping platform, to the roof...I sleep well with a thermarest pad added to this, and enjoy the ease of set up when camping.

Don’t buy a silly WOKE SUBARU car! If you want to go off-road with real power and capability, drive a solid 4X4 truck!
