The emotion in his voice is so real, I don't even know why, I don't even relate, but it hit me too

saw him in concert when he opened for the 1975 with my best friends and he only had two songs out. this one was one our favorites that he played. when he dropped the EP all three of us happened to be in the car together and i remember when the beat dropped we all looked at each other like, “this is the one.” also remembered him telling us a story about applebee’s and how nice the people were. loved his performance we’re trying to see him again as soon as possible.

The way he sings it so pure it's just so sad and makes me want to cry sometimes and it's such a beautiful song, I hope he keeps up the great work. He never failed to make a great song.

The first two lines of this song “I see the slashes on your legs and the smile on your face again, blood is drying on your fingernails laughing at something that i said.” Is my favorite song lyric of all time. Every time I hear it it fucking breaks me. 2/3 of my best friends struggle with self harm, and i have too for many years. I relapsed one night, and i felt like total shit, and i remembered this line. I remembered the part where she smiles and laughs. That despite everything i can still get up and enjoy my life. I’ve been clean since. This lyric has also motivated me to care for my friends. I want to help them with this awful burden we all have to carry. I want to be the one to put the smile on thier face. I want them to be the ones laughing at something that i said. The weight of those lines are indescribable. Thank you, Danny, for making all these beautiful songs, i wouldn’t be where i am without you
