Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is the Digital Twin of mundane, duplication tasks that modern workers have to do everyday. That is why RPA is one of the fastest growing Business Systems sector today.

You brought up one of the only good things I heard. Good catch! Most of the rest invades liberties because of the extreme nature of the "solution".

  • @stanmanmedia

As an early adopter and a guy who's been very deep in technology for decades because of my occupation, my intellectual side is intrigued by what I hear in this presentation; but my libertarian side despises it. These ideas will lead to huge companies intruding into people's lives more than ever for the true benefit of keeping insurance companies and the like, who already own everything, in charge and as powerful as ever. And you mask it all as being beneficial to society at large. Of course I'm for ideas to prevent serious accidents and reduce harm, but your ideas are out of balance to the extent that you describe ideas to make all humans bubble-boys, with no ability to dynamically think, react, and use our more spontaneous free will, the type of things that often make life worth living. We must endure some sort of risk; and if our goal is to make everything safe in life and remove requirements for real time decision making then it does an entirely different harm that can be devastating. I can see people looking for more risky hobbies in order to just feel alive. One realizes that we don't want to go back to a life where people lose several siblings because of a world fraught with danger, but the level of control you talk about is nothing more than keeping the big companies in control and moving in on people's liberties, all based on what some group thought agrees as beneficial. Listen to yourself. At one time I was an avid golfer, so I agree with the idea of learning through practice, rewarding oneself based on goals set, and not rewarding oneself when missing goals, in order to improve. It's taught by top instructors. But your ideas about mechanically doing it with electric shock is nuts. Your discussion has great premise, but the degree of control that you suggest removes the humanity, and it's greatly based on what others think is good for society, forced on us. In some of the scenarios that you describe, if your ideas take place and are implemented by let's say the insurance companies, obviously penalties will exist for those who do not participate. Don't you see the irony of your utopian story that drains free will and liberties from every civilization that signs up for these grand ideas. I believe and invest in the llatest stuff, like the ARK funds, and the premise of the digital twin you describe is fine, but your extreme ideas are not disruptive, but rather destructive.

Of course replacing mundane tasks done by humans is a good thing. I started my career decades ago working on the most sophisticated semiconductor robotics. It's the ideas that take our liberties and place in the pocket of insurance companies, and the like, that I am vehemently against.

This was a decent talk, informative. I do wish he dipped into more of the real technical aspects of the 'digital copy' and not used as many examples that are common place (Amazon is an ecosystem, Million Dollar Website, etc are all examples he explained that the audience is going to already know). He describes 'new business models' but doesn't define how these business models generate revenue, or how they reach consumers. This is a very broad overview of business models without any real 'business' part of the model or how they truly differentiate than in years previous. Overall, this year I was not as enthused in SU Global compared to years previously, feels overly commercialized and that the focus has shifted to more generic business talks, and not future-forward concepts.
