It makes you wonder how far John Panozzo would have developed these songs if he were still in that chair. The original recorded versions of most songs in the world are very sterile, so I would say that by comparison, and not to fault Panozzo - because he drumming was phenomenal, Sucherman the Sugarman has definitely "sweetened" things up (pun intended) to perfection. Panozzo would have too I imagine, just in a different way.

I have three favorite drummers, Steve gadd, Neil Peart and this guy. I've come to believe that these three drummers have five brains. One of in each foot, one in each hand and the Central master brain in their head. I could listen to the isolated drum track of his work and probably know the melody of the song without being polluted with a bunch of unnecessary "look at me" fills and frills. And being a retired FOH engineer I also love the mix.
