Cameron Hanes is great, and I admire what he's built and most of his content. I'm sure this was a fun time that most wouldn't turn down but this was not hunting, yet people in the comments seem to be using that word a lot. I do feel like there is some responsibility for the public figures of hunting to represent what hunting is since these videos are what the world sees.

With all respect.....I don't think you are anybody to state what hunting is or isn't! People think they can comment on things they haven't done. I have hunted all different forms and states and know better than to claim something isn't hunting without experiencing it first! So quit typing and start hunting!

Your adventures with Roy and others doing spot and stalk hunting is thrilling and immersive. Young Schokey's product takes me there, and portrays the experiences our primitive ancesters lived and died by. Named deer, corn bait, and blinds are disappointing by comparison. Live and let live Cam.

you must not be from the south/midwest/northeast bc that's just how whitetail are hunted in these places. its just as hard, just a different kind of hard. the year round management to grow these deer is a huge commitment. also go try and spot and stalk a mature whitetail with a bow....

I can't believe I am watching a video of Cam Hanes hunting over bait/feeders. A lot of craziness to be expected in 2024, but never would have guessed a guy like Cam would partake in any low or high fence non-sense. The hunting social media curse strikes another victim!

Not really. He’s talked about hunting over bait a lot, especially with bears. There is nothing wrong with hunting over bait or hunting a private ranch. You must realize that Texas has basically no public land. Don’t contribute to tearing down other hunters.

@@D_Boone Thats just the thing, if we don't give feedback people will consider this hunting. A shooter who sits over a cornpile and a hunter who hikes into a natural habitat they have scouted endlessly are two different people.

@@squidtower I would get absolutely nothing out of the trip besides a mount for the wall. Not my cup of tea so I wouldn't have any interest going to a place like that even if it provides an opportunity to shoot the biggest whitetail of my life. I want to work for my deer, not sit behind a bait pile or feeder, wait for 20 different buck to come out each morning or night and shoot a buck that follows the same pattern every day and requires no skill to kill. No reward factor or lasting memory in that. He went for a KZread video just like any other hunting influencer would.

Hi, I write this in the most respectful way possible. I just wanted to ask the reason behind hunting. I admire Cam so much, but as a foreigner I can´t resonate with hunting since I haven't experienced it myself. But from the ethical standpoint, from my perspective it seems a bit cruel to kill a wild animal. However, this is why I'm asking the reason behind it. Can someone please provide some information on this topic?

Yep. Very common in different parts of the country, and absolutely nothing wrong with it. If anything, it allows for an even more selective harvest, which is better for conservation. Don’t be so close minded.

Man how is this hunting????? Damn Cam lthis feels like it goes against everything you preach. A 700 pound dude can sit on a food plot and pack out a buck on the back of a pickup. Nothing special here other than some outstanding house fed bucks. Yuk, cant wait to see get back out into the mountains where others don't go because you just keep hammering!

Yes! Of corse you know what hunting IS, and everyone MUST HUNT your way because you are the almighty! You don't know everything, not even a little....and neither do I....that's why I don't tell people what real hunting is! Just HUNT!

I guess you don't hunt bear....or migrating caribou or over water or in a blind. Or rifle. What if you shoot 100 yards with a bow? Is that fair? And if I rattle one in, am I cheating? I've hunted alot of states and I know better than to criticize what I don't understand!
