How does she know these things, so young? It's taken me a lifetime to realize what she is saying here. This young woman is a treasure and the fact that she is in this world now, at this time, is a blessing.

She's a world-class empath. Consider the story behind why she wrote The River. Not everyone would have been inspired by reading about the high rates of suicide amongst men to write a song encouraging them to cry and let the pain out. It takes a different way of looking at the world. She might be lucky to be alive - we're luckier.

This song is about surviving the thoughts of self harm. “Not anybody knows that I’m lucky to be alive”. “Before I make the offering” giving into those thoughts.

Yes, Aurora started to write/compose this at nine and finished it at fifteen. 😳 Aurora is 21 at this concert, and most of the songs (ecsept fore the covers and "It happend quite") are from her first album "All my demons greeting me as a freind", wich means they are written by a person at twenty or less... Thanks for your reaction. 👍😊

@@teckreactions Here is a quote from an article, she also said it once in a private livestream: "I wrote part of "Lucky" when I was nine and finished it when I was 18." I heard that she learned about the concept of suicide back then and was horrified, and started writing this song as a way to describe the opposite feeling of being lucky to be alive.

Don't worry about connections or not between her songs, she enjoys that people make their own interpretations. That's an amazing concert, indeed. For a part of its songs, there are other versions that I love even more, most of the time acoustic ones because of my own tastes. But despite that, every time I watch one from this very concert, I'm simply caught from begining to end, mesmerized, spellbound...😮fortunately breathing happens automatically...🙂 Feel free to react to any song from it, but keep in mind that it's only one of the many musical facets this marvelous singing lady has. Thanks for reacting to Aurora, this brilliant gem for who this cathedral seems to have been built as a perfect case...🙂👍

Next one i suggest from this concert is "Boy in the Grass". A song she wrote about a tragic school shooting in Norway. Some say ahe lost a friend in the tragedy. I have not beem able to confirm this but im certain she knew some people there. Either way is a beautiful song, both heartbreaking and uplifting at the sametime. She also does a great David Bowie cover but i do think other versions are better than this concert. Her covers is a whole other rabbit hole. 🐇 one worth chasing.

Isn’t she magical?? She’s like a fairy with the voice of an angel. It never ceases to amaze me how she started writing this song at the age of 9. But what I love the most about her is the way she talks about nature, in her song Exhale, Inhale there’s a line that marked me forever: "if you could fly and be the bird then you would see the forest burn" Dang, this song and this line hits me every single time. Aurora is amazing 💜

You're right, absolute elite storytelling to go along with her elite voice, and she happens to be an elite person as well. I consider this the best recorded concert I've ever seen from anyone. Absolute 1 hour of pure magic. If you want to stick to this concert for a while, I would recommend "Soft Universe" next. Or perhaps even "It Happened Quiet" again, as the version here is completely different. It's bigger and Aurora does some really cool vocal acrobatics that she doesn't do on the acoustic version. I love them both equally, but for different reasons.

The buttons on the organ are usually called stops. On a modern, electrically controlled organ, they are buttons, but the most common traditional type of organ stops are sliders. They control different registers in the organ to get different sounds in different octaves. Organ building is like a science in itself, it's extremely complex

My favorite songs at this venue of hers are, Soft Universe, Little Boy in the Grass, Winterbird and Under Stars. I love Through the Eyes of a Child and Lucky, but I do not count them as favorites among my multitude of favorites, what does that tell you about her discography, it tells you that her discography is amazing, lol. This is such a powerful song. Aurora has an incredible talent for making you feel her song. I don't even need to know what it's about - I feel like I would understand her even if she were singing in a language I didn't know. The entire concert is very good. If you have a block of time, you might consider just watching the whole thing straight through and then chopping it up into smaller videos. She does a very nice cover of Nature Boy to open the show. Little Boy in the Grass is heartbreaking (though the Mahogany session of that song is really nice and stripped down). You really can't go wrong with anything from this show. Straying from the concert a bit: in you're into Earth Day, the Seed is a great song (and one of the few where I recommend that people watch the music video first, even though there are some very nice live versions). She definitely has an environmental/nature theme running through much of her work, but the Seed is the most prominent and direct about it.

"Churchyard" from the KEXP concert is a completely different vibe and highly recommended, as is the music video to "The Seed" (many lovely live versions, but I recommend watching the music video first). Ok... I promise I am not trying to bash you down nor to be negative, but I do feel I would like to give some fair criticism, if you may have it. I loved some of your other reactions and I pointed it out, this one... I am disappointed. I will quickly address it, hopefully you can look at it as friendly advice and not hate. 1. I feel like you were paying so much attention to the choir, that you barely listened or analyzed her and what SHE was doing. You were looking up or closing your eyes to listen to the background, the choir, not looking at her. This ties with the second point. 2. It's crazy to me that you see this song as "she's just lucky to be alive". The rhythm, her features, the somber music, AND the lyrics indicate this is something dark/sad/troublesome, the lucky part is the overcoming of the bad stuff... The problem is as I said you were not looking at her, not listening to her, not paying attention to the lyrics she was singing in perfect English and that you also admitted you had pulled up. Let me type some parts here: "Before I make the offering" "Marks have settled on my skin" "War inside my mind, behind my eyes, is coming down" "I feel too numb to even try" "Not everybody knows that I am lucky to be alive" = This last one means she is lucky that with everything she went through (all the sentences above), she made it. "And I feel the light FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME". Ok well I thought I had 3 points but I don't remember the last. I will stay subscribed as I am really impressed with your knowledge of music, as well as your observations on the piano and notes. I just felt like I didn't want to go without addressing that. Hopefully you can take something good from it. Keep it up! Your effort and interest is much appreciated. And the fact that you open your heart and channel to Aurora is something I really thank you for. Lupe.-

@celinel9750 writes from another reaction to her "Lucky" song... "This is her anti-suicide song, "before I make the offering" as I give up, I remember all the ppl I've seen and place that I've been... I FEEL the light", that is for me me the most powerful line, not only seeing the light but feeling the light, from inside, the spark that make you choose to stay." [end@celinel9750] "War inside my mind" (i.e. jump or don't jump). "Behind my eyes, it's coming down" (don't jump!) Additional Aurora songs, not done yet by you (at a minimum) IMO are: 1. Running w/ the Wolves 2. The Seed 3. Warrior 4. Exist for Love Additionally, I've seen some reactors react to both the studio version and a live version in the same reaction. -Other, honorable mention songs are: Queendom, The River, Daydreamer, and another haunting early song of her's is "Awakenings" about a girl attempting to drown herself. 😢
