Preaching to the converted here. I’ve used Stamford Notebook Company refills in Personal and A5 filofaxes, the refills they sell for their refillable notebooks and Traveller’s-type inserts, they’ve all been the same fabulous paper. It’s my go-to for cream paper. I also like that their sizing isn’t the usual A5, A6 etc. At the moment I’m favouring blue ink on bright, white paper so William Hannah is flavour of the month, but the pendulum will swing again.

Stamford Notebook Company are awesome. I love their notebooks and they do bespoke orders. Amazing customer service. Pleasure to deal with and exceed expectations. The paper is made in England as well.

Glad it was helpful! Let me know how you get on - as you can see from other comments here, the general feeling is that they're a brilliant company to deal with.

Silvline's paper hasn't changed since the days when schools required pupils to write with fountain pens. My local newsagent stocks the jotters for £1 each. I tried Stamford, but it wouldn't lay flat. William Hannah uses English paper too. And it's great.

Thanks for that! In the 70s I found Silvine very poor for Fountain pens, but the new version is much better. Stamford I find excellent and William Hannah too.

This was a very informative video. My favorite part was hearing the dog panting while you talked. I thought for sure you would bring out some William-Hannah. But I guess they might be more specialized as covers instead of paper. Anyway, I love your water color painting at the end of the vid. I’ve liked all of the water color paintings that I’ve seen and I find myself a bit astonished that so much talent resides in one man! 😀

Glad you enjoyed it - even the dog panting! Yes, William Hannah are still my favourite business, diary, planning covers, but for sketching and painting I think the Stamford notebooks are glorious. In fact, I think they might have won me over from my previous adoration of Leuchtturm. That paper is gorgeous.

It is funny that when I find a recent notebook that has the same conversion tables. I still find them extremely useful. I found a paper that works well. I found it in Walmart. With the name of MintGreen. Nice paper and inexpensive.

Pith. They're excellent. Based in Berwick. Notebooks and sketchbooks. Folds out flat and robust boards. Have a go!
