When it’s no longer a novelty thing with limited use cases I’ll applaud. When they grant access to deep mind (a tool they already developed) so I can research and develop super materials and cancer treating drugs then I’ll applaud. Until then, consumer level ai has been dumbed down so much to prevent bad actors from discovering ways to make things like a nuclear bomb (something people actually did when ChatGPT first came out), that it has become little more than a novelty at best and a new way to spy on and collect data about users.

@@infini.tesimo Nothing in AI takes that long, everything moves really fast in this industry. Literally this time last year, I thought we were 5 years away from seeing anything ready to come out like Sora AI or VEO this year, and the first literally could be coming out within a month or two from now. Suno AI has a competitor now as well for music, and that's moving faster than expected. In AI, things that look like 3-6 years could literally be 6 months from now, and I'm not joking either, I'm dead serious. Where I do agree, is how long it could take to make a really good full length movie that's 90-120 minutes long. That might take a few years, but who knows, I think we'll be making 10 minute clips within 6-18 months from now.

Interesting innovation, the competition is getting intense even for Sora.

One thing the AI companies have done are restricting Violence, nudity, Gore, offensive content - all that the big screen productions offer you as a standard. You can try prompt all day long and you'll waste your credits. Maybe you can share which ones will allow full combat etc and others that don't because something needs to change, customer pockets are being pinched .

Say goodbye to Modeling, and thousands of movie jobs! Just the start..

As fascinating as this is, i'm increasingly concerned about the huge level of naive/ignorance at play in not understanding the various negative impacts at play with these 'tools'. From the job displacement(the sheer amount of people who currently provide art/video editing/creation as a service for a living) to the mis-information or scamming and theft that would be made possible on day one. The video/audio evidence that our justice systems are built upon is out the window(given the burden of on the prosecution), the daily footage of middle eastern conflict now able to be drummed up. The list goes on and on. And it seems to be countered in how much fun we can all have now doing whatever it is we mean to do. Again i'm as excited as the next person about al this stuff, but i'm also existed about nuclear fission. I try to see both sides I suppose. Not seeing enough of that with all this new news.

Can you make video on every Google ai tool and how we use it in one shot video

Given the current trajectories and the historical patterns of similar AI technologies, it is reasonable to estimate that both VEO and Sora could be available for the general public within the next 2-3 years, assuming no major hurdles arise during their development and testing phases. The timeline could be shorter if the technologies advance rapidly and meet safety and quality benchmarks sooner than expected.

Don't be scared but, you have a bunch of really tall and skinny ghosts standing behind your left shoulder.

My hope is with these competitors coming out that it drives one of them to rush to get theirs out this summer. If I'm Sora AI, I'm freaking out right now that Google has one planned because whoever comes out first will win this war. I don't think none of them can afford to wait until the fall at this point. Somebody's gotta release theirs by July at the latest.

At this stage, it's nice to see what may be released, but between now and the actual release a lot could change.

None of them, sora included can brag about what they can do, until they release it to everyone and then have to withstand demand. If they can withstand demand and still do 60 min video, then they can brag. Until then, they can’t say they can do this. Because if they can’t do it when everyone has it, then they can’t do it.

It just randomly hit my brain that shortly…ppl will be able to generate their own acting avatars that they can trademark and copyright then license out to producers or directors to perform in artificial spaces and they can then act through voiceover the same way they do in animated film…but then the actor would own their likeness…and not the studio

That's like an AI influencer. They don't really exist yet the people who created them and gave them life are now raking in thousands of dollars every month on their AI's. There are a lot of porn AI's that are bringing in $11,000 or more a month! That's totally crazy to me.

and of course everything that is 'generated' for you is actually ripped from someone else's efforts. AI is either unethical at best or illegal at its worst. Not for the smart programming, but for the data that it uses. That is also the reason there are many court cases against OpenAI and that clearview is almost bankrupt now.
