If you look carefully, you might just be able to make out some hen's eggs under the water. I set up a camera overlooking some eggs I placed on a dry part of the river bed to attract any predators which are partial to them. Perhaps a magpie, jay or a mink or otter......................... I used an older camera as I tend to do in watery situations in case there is a sudden increase in water level. This proved to be and overnight, the water rose just enough to put the eggs under about 6 inches of water..................... Despite the intended plan being a washout, a family of mandarin ducks put in an appearance to save the day.
