@@emilymulcahy The stitch used in this is more similar to broomstick lace from crochet IMHO.

@@CandiceGoddard no, this is tatting, every stitch done is needle tatting just in a different way, typically you make one knot going left and one right in needle tatting, it's different from shuttle tatting, I learned to do it as a little girl

That is very cool. I was skeptical about the q-tip at first (because why couldn’t you use a tiny knitting needle?) but it made sense when you pulled the thread all through the original loops. Very nifty I’m tempted to sew leaves onto my bag now, but this method looks like it’d take a while. Still, quite inspiring

it looks a bit similar to needle tatting to me so i think in all white it would look a lot like lace! esp if you used a lower number of threads. could do some really pretty designs with that imo
