Hey guys, hope you're all well? How good does this delay pedal sound?? I'm totally blown away by this one, although I guess that's not unexpected given Andy Timmons' incredible tone. Tom when you say modulation that is chorus correct so does it give really clean chorus sounds

How come no one does demos with just a mono signal with a combo? Wouldn't more viewers have that kind of setup?

As much as I love it in the studio, it’s slightly overwhelming live and has me defaulting back to my old DL4 (idiot-proof preset buttons and tap tempo) and Strymon DIG.

Everything Tom plays sounds amazing, but to be honest I do like his usual delay sound more. I’m sure this pedal could do that too though!

I have this pedal and in my opinion this is the best demo you can find in KZread for it.

I couldn't wait to buy this pedal when it came out and it never fails to blow me away. Easily the best delay I've ever owned and probably ever will own.

What a pedal. One of those, everything you need, nothing you don't type of deals. Love there's plenty to dive into, but somehow without the option paralysis of the bigger box units. Enough presets for me at least. And the way the effect sits back from your playing in preset 1 allows for some great texture. But yeah, you'll have to wrap your house in shielding tape. Or get a HH for your next sig :D

The old Tom Quayle demo dilemma - with your playing, you could make a rubbish bin sound like the voice of Aphrodite. But this is obviously a fine, fine pedal. Great work all around.

Thank you. This was awesome. I never knew you were out here until TPS that time. I have been mind blown ever since. I gave a lot of gear up and got this pedal. It's just ridiculous and perfect. After a lifetime of rack gear and various complex delays, this is what I have always needed! Robert and Andy worked it out for me - and I'm all set just with the default presents. I have rearranged the order, but wow.

I bought this a month ago after watching AT demo it with Keeley and his Padawan. It does sound incredible but the learning curve is a little steep and I haven't really dove into it as much as I should and still just relying on the Wampler Tape Echo, which is very good as well.

I really wanted to do the stereo setup like you did here, Tom. I had it all setup and it works. Imagine my sadness when I realized I don't sound nearly as good as you, however. I listened to my stereo recording and realized it was just stereo garbage and decided to practice more. :D

It sounds so phenomenal!! Definitely on my list of delays i would like to add to the collection. That collection is growing too big and unnecessary though. Im currently using a Timeline, so i dont need anything else, but i really want to try the Boss RE-202, J Rockett Clockworks, Free the Tone Future Factory, and the Keeley Halo. Keeley and Andy knocked it out of the park with the Halo. Great demo too, your playing sounds great!

Just came to see the man play, however, I do like me a echo/delay pedal and Andy Timmons, is way up there in the league of 'real' players.

Tom: I’m a HUGE Alien (1979 film) fan. I love that you’ve got an Alien figure in the background. There’s a figure called the Big Chap, made by the company NECA. Their 2019 version is AMAZING! It’s 20” tall (about 50cm). Love your playing!

Good stuff. You can get wild phase/chorus patches opposite a delay bank for a Police or other such tune. Also, i would love to send you a pedal i make some day.

Amazing knowledge of the Fretboard and Masterful Fluid Playing. Pedal is quality. I have a love for Delays. I'm starting to look at Reverbs with Tails like the Meris Mercury 7 which I really like. I have several Delays and some simple Reverb. I do have a Neunaber Immerse which i haven't plugged in yet. Has a lot of variables apparently. I do believe it is Digital though. Is the Halo Analog ? How is it in Mono ? Any Feedback appreciated..Peace- \m/

I assume you're running the Halo at this point in the signal chain for convenience, since amp and cab is in another room? (As opposed to running the Halo in the effects loop of the amp) Still sounds amazing!

Thanks! Think I’m ready to use mine on my touring gig, replacing DL4. Plugging in a remote tap time (Boss) switch makes it more “live friendly” imho

How do you set up the stereo ins and outs? What’s in front of the left and right inputs?

Sounds spot on. But would of liked to here it just running straight into an amp .or even threw the return

I would like this pedal to have a led flashing continuously according to the tap tempo. It stops after some seconds. Another annoying thing is that the tap tempo is always changing if you change different delay types!

What things can be done that cannot be done with flashback2? I know this is a dual delay, but I'm talking about the types of delays. Also keep in mind that one is not playing a chord or an arpeggio all the time, and letting it sound,,,in real use, these pedals are more discreet. That is why I am asking. The idea of ​​watching so many videos with the Halo, makes me feel, that my Flashback2, is not even half of that, haha

can I do the tap tempo even if there's no delay on? like I keep pressed the A button, I set the tempo and when I engage the A preset gets the tempo I tapped...?

Tom, great demo, and really nice playing. Does the Halo have the option to choose whether the tap tempo affects only the selected preset or all presets?

I have a Halo. Tap tempo only affects the one preset but does not store the tapped tempo into the preset automatically. You must store it manually. Ie if you tap in a tempo then go to another preset the tapped tempo will be lost.

That is a very annoying thing with this pedal!

I bought one and it sounds magnificent for ambient stuff, but for playing in a band, maybe it's just too much. I feel it gets just in the way of what i play, maybe i must use it in stereo or dry/wet...

Nando you can also use an expression pedal to increase or reduce the mix, so maybe have it more subtle for your rhythm parts and bring it back stronger for lead parts. Among others, Dunlop makes a small footprint exp. volume pedal that can be used for this (or MIDI control for other pedals). Edit: I play wet/dry and that helps keep the clean tone more present. Andy Timmons runs stereo I think (and uses an exp. pedal for wet delay mix).

Would you personally add reverb if using this pedal, or do you think it serves well enough as a pseudo reverb by itself?

Would have been cooler if they made it bigger, with extra knobs instead of the “secret” ones…. Plus an easy menu for saving more presets

guys anyone's got a low frequency hum with this pedal? Or is my unit just faulty? Seems to work fine itself, but the hum is there as soon as I connect it to the amplifier. Cioks is powering it so ground issues are out of the equation. many thanks if anyone can give any hint

Bought one 2 weeks ago and also Cioks powered. Mine is utterly silent even with compressor, boost, and overdrive in front. Yours may be faulty. Assume you've checked the patch leads are good?

Yes. There’s a switch on the back of the pedal to turn “Trails” on or off

I can't even get mine to go to the A side?

I’m trying to understand, so there are 8 factory presets, so can you change any preset completely to something you’d like, or only tweek the factory ones a bit? Also, there’s no video on the tubes that shows how that is done… interested in the pedal but only if you can make a delay setting from scratch, can anyone enlighten me on this? Thanks!

You can definitely make a setting that is totally original. You start from the preset, but everything is able to be altered to create whatever you'd like.

Is there a ducking feature?

does someone know how do we "save" a new preset? or is it gonna automatically saved just after we tweak the knob?

For 90% of what I do I’d leave it on setting 1

Try the A side with 3 lights on. I forget what it’s called. I also use a vol pedal (trs) and it really shines.

Love the sound but feel there's so many damn options and the secondary functions seem confusing. Maybe I'm wrong.... anyone??

I would imagine it's low. 1.5mm high E, 1.75 low E. ( except he tunes his in 4ths).
